DNC Survey

I don't normally post vanities, but here is a story about how the DNC tried to touch my life. And it also shows how, euphimistically, inept they are.

My mailbox held an interesting surprise for me yesterday. It was a letter from the DNC! This was the last thing I ever expected to receive in the mail. My curiosity got the better of me so I opened it. The salutation was to me, with the title Democratic Party Member. Imagine that! A Freeper getting mail saying he's a member of the DNC. I didn't know if someone was playing a sick joke or if I should be mad because I was just called, in writting, a Democrat!

The survey was all spin type questions with multiple choice answers that were either DNC talking points or too ridiculus to take seriously. Kind of like "Pres Bush is a) doing a terrible job or b) I hate Bush." Not as bad that, but you get the idea. And at the end was a obligatory request for a donation. But that's not the point I'm making here.

What really got me was their statement I was a loyal democrat and they were thankful for my support. The problem, aside from being conservative, is that it is illegal for me to vote or to even join a political party!

I'm not a felon or underaged, but, as many freepers know, I'm not yet a U.S. citizen. I'm still in the immigration pipeline. But I'm really wondering, knowing the underhanded tricks of the DNC, is this. Did I get registered to vote without knowing about it? Or even worse, am I really a member of the DNC? I need to take a shower just thinking about that! But seriously, if they registered me to vote, like they do with dead people, it is a very serious legal matter and could screw up my immigration situation big time.

Perhaps this really is just unsolicited junk mail and Howard Dean got my address from some magazine mailing list. At least I hope! Any way to check this out?

I always send them the mailing label off the envelope and tell them to remove this name from their mailing list. Sometimes I include some other junk mail just to keep me from making that looooooong walk to the trash can. I guess I could put a banana peel or some used tissues in there too.

I think it's just a crude and slightly deceitful DNC recruiting drive.

The DNC probably raided public information rolls listing the names and addresses of all green card holders and sent out money-begging letters to them.

In that case it really isn't the votes of the green card holders they're after (although they wouldn't turn down any votes down that managed to slip through the leaky filters).

My guess is that they're trying to do two things: 1) cause you to self-identify as a Democrat early, well in advance of citizenship, and 2) seal the deal by persuading you to donate money to the corrupt liberal cause.

Once a person has "buy in" and has put money on the line, they're much more likely to stay with the program.

If this is what the DNC is doing and large numbers of green card holders have gotten such letters, it would make an interesting scoop for an intrepid reporter somewhere to investigate and publish.

There is no question that the Dems are aggressively looking for money from green card holders. Check out this link to a campaign website of a Democratic congressional candidate in New York.

You should check to see if someone did register you as a Rat. Really, you should. If you are registered you might get yourself onto Fox News.
