I can't help but notice that quiter a few of our southern neighbours here who have blamed this on just about everything and everyone (Liberals, Muslims, Canada's gun laws, etc, etc) except the real perp.
I wonder if these are the same ones who scream bloody murder when a portion of the Canadian public say that U.S. foreign policy was a contributing factor in 9/11.

I don't know if that's supposed to be directed to me, but I wasn't commenting on who was responsible for today's murder in Montreal, just that there's no reason squeegee men should be able to ply their trade in any major city these days. The NYC crime rate was lowered by Giuliani in part because the police started cracking down on squeegee men and other similar petty criminals instead of doing what NYC had done for years - just ignoring or otherwise coddling them. That didn't do anyone good.

Of course, it is primarily the fault of the idiot who pulled the trigger. Guns don't kill people - people kill people.

That's a mischaracterization of the poll. According to the Leger Marketing poll majority of Canadians thought the 9/11 attacks were a "primarily the result" of U.S. foreign policy. But even more Canadians thought the attacks were a primary result of Islamic extremism, and about a third thought the attacks were a primary result of Israel's actions in the Middle East. When added together, though, 165% of Canadians thought the attacks were "primarily the result" of those three things - which, if you think about it, doesn't make much sense. How can anything be "primarily the result" of more than one thing?

Your silly comment hardly needs responding to except to say that you've had a molson's too many...and maybe suffer from the complex that many canadians are afflicted with: denial.

The real perp could be stopped before the body count soared if some of the potential victims were armed, like say, even the faculty. After all aren't the faculty entrusted with shaping the thoughts and future of the students so why not their protection as well?
And if the faculty can't be trusted not to ham each other or the students then why are they allowed to remain?

If a significant but not immediately apprarent percentage of the otential victims are known to be armed ,that alone will deter and change the plans of would be perpetrators.
