Here we go folks - this is how this stuff gets started. Little by little, obscurity, etc. and before you know it, the inevitable question arises: "How did this happen"?

He is a "former" Nation of Islam Islamist, but he's also been endorsed by ... gulp ... a Jewish newspaper in Minneapolis.
I live in the 5th District. I crossed over and voted in the Democrat primary last night - solely to prevent Ellison from winning.
Ellison had taken a beating in the news because of his many ethical lapses - but no one in the the MSM ever called him out about his former ties to Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam as well as campaign money he had taken from people who were Hamas supporters.
Why did Ellison win? He had a good chunk of the party apparatus behind him, a group that went all out to ensure that their endorsed candidate won.
Lastly, he split the vote with three white candidates. In a one on one primary, Ellison would likely have lost.
Barring any extremely unfavorable new information about Ellison, he will be the next member of Congress from the 5th District of Minnesota. The district is too heavily Dem for any GOP'er to win in November.
And we're all the worse for this too.

Ellison has support of the Somali population in Minneaplois, among others. He's a joke. My question is, why do the Somalis get to vote? They love that he's a Muslim BTW. Don't you have to be a US citizen? I'm pretty sure the majority of Somalis, that voted, are not. I'm frustrated by every aspect of this guy running and possibly getting elected. I live in the dumbest state in the union.
