Clinton, most Americans, skip ABC's 9/11 miniseries

NEW YORK (AP) -- Editing changes made by ABC to the first part of its miniseries "The Path to 9/11" were cosmetic and didn't change the meaning of scenes that had angered several former Clinton administration officials, a spokesman for the former president said Monday.

As for Clinton, he didn't bother watching the movie that angered so many people who once worked for him.

"He made the choice that most Americans made," said Jay Carson, Clinton Foundation spokesman. "Of a fictionalized drama version of September 11 or the Manning brothers playing football against one another, he chose the latter."

The movie was flattened in the ratings by the debut of NBC's Sunday night football, matching Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts against his younger brother Eli of the New York Giants. The football game had an estimated 20.7 million viewers, while "The Path to 9/11" had 13 million, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The ABC movie did, however, beat CBS' third airing of its "9/11" documentary, which was seen by an estimated 10.6 million people, Nielsen said.

I thought Clinton and his pals kept wanting a pre-screening. Once the film actually rolls, Clinton doesn't care to see it.

And since when is 13 million spun as a negative number for ratings?

So I guess by this logic another headline would read:

Most Americans Skip Evening News Broadcasts

Ah, yes, it's always edifying to be lectured to on truth and integrity by a man who works for Bill Clinton.

Ya know, I liked Clinton better when he was president, if that is possible.

I am having a hard time figuring out the Democrat word of the day.

Maybe it is "Ratings."

13 million against the debut of Sunday Night Football, with the Giants on one side, isn't too bad.

This is just like old times, with CNN using the headline provided for them directly from bill clinton, and not even trying to hide that in their story. The only difference is that it wasn't faxed from the White House basement, the way it was during the glory years (as liberals think of them).

Right.

I'll bet he watched it last night, and he'll be watching it again tonight.

I'm surprised that he didn't watch it..

If he didn't watch it, then how could he write a four page letter to ABC saying the content was inaccurate and misleading, and therefore should not be aired? Hmmmm?

I must say, not one other person I talked to at work watched the "Path" either. It would seem, most people did not want to be reminded of that day. Then aagain, most people I work with are dems.

Clinton, most Americans, skip ABC's 9/11 miniseries

Leave it to CNN to miss the part of the iceberg under the water line.

The fact this show (even in edited form) got a showing on one of the
three major networks is just the start.

Once the "Directors Cut" edition DVD with the untouched product is
sold...it'll be in millions of households.
Worldwide.

It's so well done and even respectful of the determination and
genius of some of the terrorists like Ramzi Youssef...it'll end up
a best-seller in the wild areas of Pakistan!
