Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV, Multi-National Force - Iraq senior spokesman, said that Coalition aircraft saw the terrorists loading a mortar tube into a white sedan near a known terrorist safe house. The Coalition aircraft continued to watch as the terrorists dug up munitions from a weapons cache and then fired four mortars at Iraqi civilians Saturday morning. The men then drove the vehicle to another secluded area. Coalition forces, determining that striking the terrorists at this location would prevent innocent casualties, dropped a guided bomb from the aircraft onto the vehicle, killing all six terrorists. Secondary explosions showed the terrorists had other explosives in and around the vehicle, Caldwell said. During a press conference in Baghdad on Wednesday, Caldwell showed reporters aerial video footage of the air strike. We continue to see success in killing and capturing those terrorists who carry out attacks against the Iraqi people and Iraqi security forces, Caldwell said. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Iraqi security forces and Coalition forces, these terrorists will no longer be able to conduct acts of terror in an attempt to discredit Iraqs democratic process. |
Not only GREAT News from Iraq but VIDEO TOO!
Cool. Now if only those b*stards in Iran and Syria would quit arming all these a-holes who are killing the Iraqi people then the Iraqis might actually get to have a normal life and enjoy freedom.
Very, very cool. Real men at work.
I don't see why we waited, unless it was to gather more intelligence. I'd wager some of them got away.
NICE!!!
i can watch this stuff all day ,go get 'em boys ....

I hope they had their OSHA safety glasses and earplugs, and their sleeves rolled down to protect against sparks. :o)
Five minutes elapsed between the car parking and the bomb hitting. Guess they had to clear it with the lawyers. Bad guys probably got away.
"near a known terrorist safe house" ????
Why is a known terrorist safe house not a pile of rubble?
Good shooting! Hellfire strikes again.
I would be willing to bet that is what it was. Or...the surveillance platform did not have any weapons, and they had to call them in. Or both.
It does make sense to try to watch sometimes. You never know what fish will jump into the pan.
But it sure transmitted a good picture.
I agree with the concept of watching them sometimes. As I said, just watching to see who meets whom can be very valuable. Where the come from and how, and where they go and how may help SF teams move in and set up ambushes in the future.
The secondary expolsions were most telling.....they hit the right spot.
Good news for America is bad news for the Dems.
Go get 'em boys....God Bless our Troops.
I have to take satisfaction in this type of thing by reminding myself who is on the recieving end of those weapons.
I don't take pleasure or joy in the ending of life.
Except in some cases.
Like this. And it isn't pleasure or joy as much as grim satisfaction for the well being of all the other humans these scumbags are trying to whack.
I've always thought that they should have balloons tethered at 18,000 feet above Bagdhad with cameras looking at where these insurgents plant IEDs, where insurgents go to after they fire mortars, etc. They could monitor traffic 24 hours and find out who what where, but who am I.
