Talent pulls even with McCaskill in Senate race By Jo Mannies POST-DISPATCH POLITICAL CORRESPONDENT 09/02/2006
Claire McCaskill and Jim Talent
U.S. Sen. Jim Talent's deluge of ad spending apparently has paid off.
The latest Research 2000 poll for the Post-Dispatch and KMOV-TV (Channel 4) found that Talent, R-Mo., has chipped away the edge held by his Democratic rival, state Auditor Claire McCaskill.
With a little more than two months left before Election Day, the two are in a statistical dead heat.
The Maryland-based firm's latest poll of 800 likely voters, conducted Monday through Thursday, found that 47 percent backed McCaskill and 46 percent supported Talent. Two percent supported Libertarian Frank Gilmour, while the remaining 5 percent were undecided.

I'm going to meet Talent at an NRA thing this month. I am trying to think of a tactful way to tell him to quit spending so much. Any hints? He's great on guns and defense, so I count MO as lucky to have him.
The 'RAT Senatorial candidate here in Arizona has got a "deluge of ad spending" gig going too. It's only paying off for the makers of Windex. I have to wash the mud off my TV screen after each one of his hate-filled ads. What a scumbag.
Sweet.
If you mean within the Senate/government, then Sen. Talent already is one of the most fiscally-responsible Senators there. You can and should tell him to encourage fellow Republican Senators to be more fiscally responsible.
If you mean Sen. Talent should quit spending on ads to make himself and his positions better known, helping him win re-election and a full 6-year term, then he should NOT stop spending. He has the funds and needs to get the message out.
I guess I don't understand what you mean....
Government spending is the problem. I donated to his campaign and hope everyone who pings this thread does the same. We need to bury this McKaskil twit once and for all.
Agreed on both counts. Thank you.
ask him if he will vote against any and all Farm Animal ID/Tagging bills that come to the floor.
