> It took me almost a year to get used to mayo on my cheeseburgers, and now I love it, as an aside from ketchup or mustard.
If you are ever in British Columbia, go to a "White Spot" restaurant and order one of their mushroom burgers (with or without cheese, your choice).
I have been dreaming about a White Spot burger ever since I emigrated, because try as I might I *cannot* quite duplicate one in New Zealand. I can get close, but this Holy Grail eludes me...
White Spot uses mayonnaise in their burgers: not too much, just enough. And something called "Triple-O" sauce. Their burgers are addictive, and I am in long-term withdrawal...
Thanks for the tip, D. Never heard of 'White Spot' burgers, either. Had those yummy 'White Castle' burgers back in the 70s.
This 'White Spot'?

Or this one?

What the heck's that covering the burger?
It looks like a fried egg!
*Yech!*
> This 'White Spot'?
Yup -- that's the one. "White Spot" is a Vancouver-based legend.
Dunno about the White Spot in Virginia, it does not appear to be affiliated.

Crikey! It looks to be an omelette disaster... Yuck! Not to be consumed without deploying HazMat protective clothing...
DownUnder, the signature burger comprises:
- hamburger and bun (naturally)
- cheese (optional)
- fried egg (sunny-side-up)
- pineapple ring
- large thick slice of pickled beetroot
- bacon (fried crisp)
- condiments of your choice (tomato sauce, tomato, lettuce, mustard, mayonnaise, &tc -- this part varies quite a bit)
Delicious! Get one at a burger trailer by the beach, consume the burger (it's a mess!) and run into the surf to wash off. Best I've ever had was in Cronulla (Sydney), tho' they do a pretty mean burger here in Auckland.
Though maybe some night when I get the 'blind munchies', I'll try one just for grins, f.
I owned and operated The Blind Munchies® in Des Moines, IA, back in the late-60s, when I was a student at Drake University. My 'hippie days', if I can remember correctly. Ha!
The building is legendary and still there.
Memories come flooding back...
You're right, of course. I misread it.
Gosh, poor kid. Though I still laugh when I think of that tape.
"...my wife made it today at lunch and it was super..."
LOLOL!
There ya go, J. Stay the heck outta the kitchen, J!
Those who can; cook. Those who can't; post on FR and oogle Ann Coulter! (I've got a foot on both sides of the fence, BTW)
