Officials Investigate Suspicious Bag at JFK
NEW YORK -- Authorities were investigating an unattended bag found in a parking lot Thursday night across from three terminals at Kennedy airport.
Vehicular traffic was being diverted from Terminals 1, 2 and 3 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, and public transportation wasn't stopping in the area.
The three terminals remained in use, but there were five departure delays at Terminal 1.
The terminals, among eight in use at the Queens airport, serve several international airlines, including Air France, plus Continental and Delta airlines.
The New York Police Department bomb squad and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs the airport, were investigating the bag. Port Authority spokesman Pasquale DiFulco said he wasn't sure what type of bag it was.
