I emphasize, "by the book". I am a stickler for correct phraseology, especially when giving control instructions. Unfortunately, not all of my fellow controllers are the same way. Pilots are also prone to bad and/or confusing phraseology.

Bad phraseology also tends to happen a lot when traffic is light to nil. The fact that this happened at 6:00am on a Sunday does not give me a warm fuzzy...
