NEW YORK -- The New York Times has restaurant, play and movie critics. Now, there's a critic to help readers navigate the fragrant world of perfume.

Chandler Burr, a magazine writer and author, will debut in the Aug. 27 issue of the newspaper's style magazine. If Burr follows in the tradition of other opinionated Times critics, perfume makers beware: scents had better be up to snuff.

Oh, thank God! I was worried that the Times was becoming irrelevant and out of touch with most Americans. Whew...

Yeah, his first article should be, "More Perfume needed at NYTimes offices, Too Many Stinky Liberals!!"

Guess he can write articles about fixing up that old pickup truck when he's not writing about perfume. Should work out real good.

This will really bring their readership and stock price roaring back.

Even those who stink begin to smell their own decay. Covering up the smell is just what one would expect from the New York Times.

Makes one wonder how many ways perfume could be described on paper. I don't know what's sadder, that the NYT felt that this is what readers want or that the AP wrote a story about it.

This decision makes just enough sense to make charging the online customer an additional fee to read the op-eds online noteworthy.

After a long day of disgruntlement on my part I have to say this is the best article to read prior to shutting down the computer. I will get to sleep with a smile on my face, knowing the world is now safe...the Slimes has a perfume editor!

The girlymen down at the Slimes are FINALLY getting into something they have some knowledge about. This is right up their alley.

The named a man as a perfume critic? Not a woman? WTF? Is he um, .."whole"? Has someone gotten to him?

Burdizzo

The burdizzo is a metal instrument that severs or crushes the cords and associated blood vessels leading to the testicles. This stops the blood circulation to the testicles so that they degenerate within the scrotum. This is also a bloodless method of castration. When using this method, be sure that both cords are severed or crushed. The cords are located above the testicles.
