The belief is no truly saved person can "fall" back. The strength of true faith in Christ the Redeemer sustains the believer through all travails. One is never tested beyond their ability (with Christ's help) to endure in the faith. If one "falls" they were never truly in the faith in the first place. It is easy to claim the faith when there is nothing to risk but difficult when all may be lost. That is the test that caused ever Peter to slip (but not fall). This is not to say that the most "pious" cannot sin. We continue to sin and those in the faith are convicted of the need to continually seek forgiveness. Sinning is not falling from grace for the true believer.
