How The Road To Terror Leads Back To London

By Jeffrey Imm

It has been reported that it was planned for today --August 16 -- that terrorists planned to kill many thousands of Americans in coordinated attacks using 9-10 jetliners on the United States homeland. But whether investigations show that it ultimately turns out to have been planned for today or another date, one thing is certain, that this coordinated "mass murder" terrorist attack was planned to be much worse than the 9/11 attacks.

Today, the United States is still threatened by the fellow citizens of the country of these terrorists, which has 1200 active Jihadist terrorists currently planning between 20 to 70 terrorist plots, with 8000 terrorist sympathizers, whose citizens have made three attempted mass casualty terrorist attacks on USA homeland (Richard Reid - December 2001, Financial District Terrorists - August 2004, 10 Jetliner Terrorists - August 2006) threatening the lives of thousands of Americans, whose national tolerance of radical Islam has made it a planning and logistics center for global terror attacks, with an Islamic population of 1.6 – 1.8 million, where 13% of its Islamic population views terrorists as "martyrs", where 16% of its Islamic population is sympathetic to suicide bombers, where 40% of its Islamic population seeks the implementation of Sharia law, and where 45% of its Islamic population thinks that USA was responsible for 9/11 attacks. It is a country that is and has been a home to radical Islamists from around the world. This is the same country that Osama Bin Laden planned to immigrate to while he was planning the 9/11 attacks on the USA. It is a country that seems to give the greatest latitude to those extremists who call for violence as "Behead Those Who Insult Islam," "Slay Those Who Insult Islam," "Kill Those Who Insult Islam," "Butcher Those Who Mock Islam," and to those who praise the 9/11 terrorists -- while criticizing those who would oppose such murder-minded maniacs – and where members of its government publicly support suicide bombers.

Surprisingly, this country is not Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan. This country is the USA's military ally in the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters -- the United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom is already cautioning today that it may have to release a number of the latest British terror suspects, with the UK Deputy Prime Minister stating "I would be surprised if everyone arrested was charged".

To be fair, a combination of good luck, alert airline passengers, and the United Kingdom's intelligence service has thus far foiled such mass-casualty British terrorist attacks that would have surely led to mass-casualties in the United States homeland of 10,000 to 12,000 (or more) dead Americans. All Americans are and should be grateful for this. And certainly, the evidence shows that Pakistani nationals may also have been involved in this latest attack, in addition to British terrorists, prompting the British media to ask about Pakistan "Just whose side is Pakistan really on"?, and clucking "How the road to terror leads back to Pakistan".

But the fact remains, these are British citizens who are trying to attack and kill Americans in the United States homeland. And the road to terror also leads straight back to London.

And the next logical question has to be: "how can the United Kingdom stop the attacks altogether?" But that would require the United Kingdom's government, public ("people are definitely skeptical"), and media to end the mass denial and realize that something is very wrong in their country that must be fixed. After the most recent foiled British terrorist attack on the United States, the "British Islamic Community's" response ranged from mistrust and skepticism, and outright statements that the terror plots were a hoax, to statements empathizing with British Muslim "anger", expectations "that some were prepared to take drastic action", and that the terror plot "is a cover-up because of what's going on in Lebanon" (This is in addition to other Britons who view the terror plot as "make-believe" and "propaganda".)

Nor is the excuse that British Muslims who support or become terrorists - do so because they are disadvantaged a plausible argument – the latest terror suspects are middle-class, mainstream members of British society, and well-educated members of society that are university students, in communities where homes sell for £500,000 ( where the British schools teach how America may have caused 9/11). This is a pattern that the UK government has known for some time now in Jihadist recruitment. Nor is the excuse plausible that these British Muslims cannot understand British society because they are second and third generation Britons that cannot integrate into society. My grandparents were British, and I can assure that I am completely loyal to the United States and can understand American values just fine.  The reality is that in the United Kingdom, within the "British Muslim community", there are many individuals who believe in political influence by violence – and that terrorist violence is justifiable in addressing foreign policy concerns, that "terrorism is the law of the 21st century".

And while there are some British voices in the wilderness that have provided books of warning such as Melanie Phillips' "Londonistan" and Michael Grove's "Celsius 7/7", these have clearly not been taken seriously enough, and in some cases, have been ridiculed by much of the British media and public, while the pervasive appeasement of Islamism continues to grow in the UK to even such ridiculously secular issues as ice cream and children's passport photos.

The long history of the United Kingdom's appeasement of radical Islamism is troubling and widespread, but ultimately the conditions that allowed for the growth of such Jihadists were created by the United Kingdom. The nation that thought it could avoid the wrath of Jihadists by providing them a multicultural haven that would not question or confront radical Islam – was proven wrong a year ago in the July 7, 2005 London tube bombings. But even after the July 7, 2005 London tube bombings, UK courts, the UK government, and the UK public have resisted and protested new anti-terrorism measures, as the post 7/7 debate in United Kingdom was largely led by the voices of Islamists. UK-headquartered Islamic charities are still involved with funding terror groups, as are other British groups. And essentially, no progress has been made in de-radicalizing the "British Muslim Community" in the year since 7/7, with British Muslims being told by their leaders not to cooperate with the police. So what should lead the USA to believe that changes will happen after the latest foiled terror plot on the United States homeland?

If we truly respect the United Kingdom as an ally, it is time that the United States asks the tough questions as to what the UK government and people are going to do change the environment of continuing threat towards our country. The United Kingdom's military alliance in Iraq and Afghanistan is laudable, but American's first priority is and must be protection of the United States homeland – and the painful truth is that regarding the security of the USA homeland – the UK is and remains a threat. While MI5 has foiled plots, security lapses and threats of Al Qaeda infiltration are still grave concerns. Surely, if there are 1200 or many thousands more of British terrorists just across the Atlantic, the Visa Waiver program should be put on hold if not canceled completely. And certainly, Americans must pause and think long and hard when British citizens have become so radicalized that British parents would use their infant baby to sneak liquid explosives on a jetliner to kill Americans, while other Britons question the existence of a global Jihadist threat. When British citizens view their fellow-citizens' latest attempt at mass-murder of Americans as "propaganda", "make-believe", and "a cover-up", at what point do Americans have to ask a large number of the British public, "Just whose side are you really on?"

I think Britain can be counted on as a US ally until Blair is replaced by a socialist to the left of him.

When Blair is gone it is going to get worse. The Brits have no support for us in this war and want to stick their heads in the sand and hope it will all go away.

The British people are divided, as are the Americans. We get lots of good support from the Brits in Afghanistan, and the British Forces are with us in Iraq, too.

They have their versions of John Murtha, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, ad nauseum, but all the Brits aren't Fabian socialist EU-loving candidates for dhimmitude.

The Muslims in France last year should have been the EU wake up call. Guess not.

How does it "fit"? What is it supposed to mean?

I'm not being sarcastic, nor nasty; I really don't know what the picture is of, now who CLASH is.
