No, but it's too bad they won't even consider it. Of course, a 'strong Republican candidate' in Connecticut can mean something completely different than it means in, say, Kansas.
Why not? Schlesinger is a joke, but Republicans need to support Republicans instead of a liberal who will go back to the back-stabbing Dims anyway. If another Republican steps in, then the GOP should support him/her.
