There goes all those "Keep Tahoe Blue" bogus bumperstickers! Right down the drain!!!

This "clarity" thang with Lake Tahoe has been around longer and is just as bogus as "Global Warming!" (that it's a manmade problem, that is)

I loved the "Keep Tahoe Red, White, and Blue" stickers, and I never knew where I could get one.

Lake Tahoe, and the Truckee River. Brings back the good old days, before marriage, kids, and responsibility.

Too much clarity in a lake can be a sign of a lake in decline.

Clear water may be pretty but it is also lifeless.

Say what? As I understand it, there's really no question that modern development has reduced the clarity of the lake. The only thing this article suggests is that the remediation efforts are working.

There goes all those "Keep Tahoe Blue" bogus bumperstickers! Right down the drain!!!

And I wish those old worn out enviro-wacko "Save Mono Lake" bumper stickers would disapear too. The lake has been filling for over decade.

My reply to the "Keep Tahoe Blue" stickers is "Keep Tahoe Blue--Don't Live There".

Why is it that everything that they set out to preserve for future generations ends up being put off-limits to present generations?

Lake Tahoe fun fact...

Lake Tahoe was originally named for former California Governor, John Bigler. The name was changed to the Indian name of Tahoe during the Civil War because Bigler was pro-secessionist. Mark Twain wrote an editorial blasting the name change in the Virginia City Territorial Enterprise...

"I yearn for the scalp of the soft-shell crab, be he injun or white man, who conceived of that spoony, slobbering, summer complaint of a name. Why, if I had a complaint against a half-price n*gg*r, I wouldn't be mean enough to call him by such an epithet as that."
