Mourners carry the coffins of Israeli Arabs Hanna Hamam, 62, and Ladida Mazzawi, 67, who were killed Sunday night in a Hezbollah rocket attack, during their funeral in the city of Haifa, northern Israel, Monday, Aug. 7, 2006. Hezbollah fired its deadliest rocket barrage Sunday on Israel, killing 12 Israeli reservists and three civilians. That brought the Israeli death toll to 94, including 46 soldiers, the 12 reservists and 36 civilians.

Yippee!! Now they should carry it out QUICKLY so that Baathists and Islamo-goons don't have much time to take hostages, etc. trying to overturn this. The longer they wait the more trouble they'll have....

Oh, I remember reading that one! I love the Catskills and the Adirondeck area and so I read that one with interest.

What the heck is the FBI doing? I have zero confidence they are even keeping on eye on that place but hope I'm wrong.

Leftists Shift from Judea and Samaria to Lebanon
18:14 Aug 08, '06 / 14 Av 5766

(IsraelNN.com) The left-wing International Solidarity Movement (ISM) is shifting its anti-Israeli demonstrations from Judea and Samaria to Lebanon. The group plans to stage a civilian convoy on Saturday and defy Israel Air Force bombings, ISM activist Adam Shapiro told Reuters News Agency. The IDF has bombed vehicles carrying weapons under the camouflage of humanitarian aid.

ISM's activities until now have been restricted to Judea and Samaria, where they have protested against the separation barrier and the existence of Jewish communities. Jewish residents have charged the activists with faking incidents in order to portray them as being violent.

Why would this be posted on a Koranimal forum? Has a plot been uncovered?

American Poll: Few Blame Israel for War
18:19 Aug 08, '06 / 14 Av 5766

(IsraelNN.com) A new poll of Americans has shown that 39 percent blame the Hizbullah terrorist organization for the war while less than 10 percent blame Israel.

The survey by the Washington Post and ABC also revealed that almost half of the respondents blame both sides for the conflict. Hizbullah tried to infiltrate the Israeli border July 12 and then kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and began to attack the north with Katyusha rockets. Israel retaliated in an effort to bring back the soldiers, and Hizbullah has escalated the conflict by bombing Haifa and communities to the south.

Hi, Allegra,

What's the thinking there about Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's latest statements?

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2006-08-08-iraq-violence_x.htm

Or even President Talibani (from the article): ' On Monday, President Jalal Talabani, a Kurd, met with the top U.S. commander in Iraq, Gen. George W. Casey Jr., to discuss security operations in Baghdad. Talabani said he told Casey "it is in no one's interest to have a confrontation" with al-Sadr's movement. '

I highly recommend this outstanding article/analysis from Israel:

The 1973 Syndrome. What's Wrong With Israel?

For those of us who remember the Six Day War in 1967, and the debacle at the start of the Yom Kippur War in 1973, this article has the absolute ring of truth.

When Olmert pronounced that “in this war we have already achieved unparalleled achievements that have changed the face of the Middle East,” Haaretz reported that senior officers in the audience wondered aloud, “Is it possible that he is looking at the same war that we are?” Other officers argued that if the Israeli moves were presented as a war exercise in the classroom, they would not have gotten a passing grade. Others spoke of hubris, of the faulty belief that the air force alone could overcome the Katyusha problem, and of the prolonged negligence in training reserve units and equipping them properly.

The article contains much more, of course. For those looking for clear insight into what is happening RIGHT NOW in Israel, please read this article.

They are to PC to confront the issue. Don't want to be sued by the ACLU.
