Stability in Iraq depends on this latest move in Baghdad. FoxNews showed what has been happening in building the destroyed areas in the north of Iraq. They now have built huge apartment complexes to house those left homeless by the bombings. What they showed was largely paid for by some Texas millionaire. Can't find the story on the internet, though.

Taken together, there are around 60 violent incidents a day in the city. OK, it's been violent around here lately; I'll admit that.
But that number is a bit of a stretch.

How did the day end up? When I went to bed last night you reported 3 bombings but didn't know where they were. Any more info?

Here is an email from one of the members of the 172 Strykers. Really hard on their families. The Strykers were days away from coming home after 18 months in Iraq. They have been redeployed for an additional 3-6 months. I received last week.
As usual the actual situation on the ground is no were near as melodramatic and ominous as the dram queens in the junk media claim. Stability in Iraq does NOT rest on this latest move in Baghdad. Basically you have rival gangs killing each other. This does not in any way threaten the hold of the Iraqi Govt on the rest of the country. It absurd to claim this is a make or break mission. Not hardly.
Just a quick reply saying, "Thank you!"
I'm in Bagdad now, getting things set for our company to arrive. There will be more to follow for you guys and gals that have so continued to support our efforts.
Oh yeah, our guys will deffinately keep low, kick butt, and take names. I am very confident that as unfortunate for us as it may be, that we are the right guys for the job.

When I went to bed last night you reported 3 bombings but didn't know where they were. Any more info? Raodside bombs in the western part of town. From what I hear, there were a couple of injured (Iraqi forces), no deaths.
That "100 violent deaths in Baghdad a day" the media's been squawking about lately just isn't happening.
Kind of like that civil war.

These are the guys I told you about on the Middle East thread yesterday. Those guys are the reason I have no qualms or apprehension regarding what is likely imminent here.

Speaking of CNN, they mentioned this last night in deep, sorrowful tones. The reporter, could have been Wolf Blitzer, added a caveat. US troops were going in, but it was questionable if they could end the civil war. (This 'Iraq civil war' propaganda is even better than 'Iraq is a quagmire'.) Slammed US troops up one side and down the other. Every day in every way CNN is more despicable.

I hate, loathe and detest CNN. I'm so grateful I finally got Fox News in my room and don't have to stomach CNN's lies anymore.
Here, just for the heck of it, I'll say it again.
THERE IS NO CIVIL WAR IN IRAQ.

Howdy neighbor!!!
I find that dense foam earplugs and Excedrin PM keeps out the background noise at night.
The LN's know the instigators are foreign (Chechen), totally insane & want them to dry up & blow away...

Hi back atcha, neighbor!
Once I'm asleep at night, I don't hear a thing. I've slept right through mortar and rocket attacks.
The LN's are some of our best sources of Media-BS-Busters, aren't they?
(Did you hear that just now? Off in the distance?)

CNN certainly doesn't hear me.
And they are very close to where I am.

Your reference post in post #19. Pretty good evaluation. There is no frigen civil war, and there will be none. The Islamo mafias, criminal bands that get payed to do hatchet jobs on people and a mix of sadistical bastards from the Saddam goon squads and remenant AQIR, continue to plague the city and surronding areas.
And of course we cannot discount the fat boy having his knuckle draggers taking out Sunnis in some areas of the city and neighboring cities and villages.
Allegra. Stay safe. Hope you shall soon be ready for another R&R for a little rest and relaxation and a couple cold ones. Guess another month or so and the rains and cooler weather will set in.
