OK, now things are getting weird.
This Reuters photograph shows blatant evidence of manipulation. Notice the repeating patterns in the smoke; this is almost certainly caused by using the Photoshop clone tool to add more smoke to the image. (Hat tip: Mike.)
Its so incredibly obvious, it reminds me of the faked CBS memos. Smoke simply does not contain repeating symmetrical patterns like this, and you can see the repetition in both plumes of smoke. Theres really no question about it.
Smoke billows from burning buildings destroyed during an overnight Israeli air raid on Beiruts suburbs August 5, 2006. Many buildings were flattened during the attack. REUTERS/Adnan Hajj
My first thought on that is "no" but I'm not a photoshop expert. However, IMHO, what's highly suspicious about that photo has more to do with the "planted" baby than the planted/photoshopped pacifier. When you get a moment, read this thread regarding the traveling mortician - aka green helmet guy...
"Based on these descriptions, it seems highly likely that Abu Shadi the mortician and Abu Shadi the green-helmeted "civil defense worker" are one and the same. And, in the double role, Abu Shadi was among the first to arrive, before the media did, with his refrigerated truck that in recent days had been carrying around corpses. We have pictures of Abu Shadi Jradi standing by the refrigerator truck, corpse in hand, and then, in different dress, posing with the same corpse in a different location... The tantalizing question, which may never be answered, is this: was Abu Shadi's refrigerated truck empty when he arrived at Qana that morning?..."

"There always seems to be extra buildings in this guy's photos, huh?"
Wow. You really have an eye for this.
As I said before, Adnan Hajj seems to specialize in smoke. Maybe it's no accident. He puts a lot into it. LOL
If you haven't already, go here:
Yahoo! Search - News Search
http://news.search.yahoo.com/
And search for his name. You'll see that about one third of his photos have dramatic smoke.
You really have to wonder how many of them have been enhanced.
Anyway, you did great work on this. Congrats!
This is the "corrected" Reuters photo:
The fake Reuters photo is still in rotation:
"The outlining around the edge of the man in the photo looks like "mosquito noise"."
Not to make excuses, but newspapers used to edge subjects in photos to make them pop out more in the paper (I mean literally paper).
Maybe this guy is an old timer and is doing it from habit. Or maybe it is still allowed or even encouraged in some cases.
Of course this is completely different from adding smoke, etc.
"I took your photo and overlayed Hajj's photo from the same area so that it is easier to see what has been photoshopped."
That is an excellent way to demonstrate it.
LOL, nuts we are!!
I see this story is on Rush's site
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com
Translation:
"The photo editing was not done in a proper manner. A new version PROPERLY using the image editing software will follow.
Had it been used properly initially, we would not have been busted.
The person responsible will be punished by sending him/her/it to remedial image editing classes."
man... it really doesn't help that all their buildings look like stacks of cowflop.
Take a look at this ping!
I see no "face" in either image
ugh! that image always makes me cringe
I just needed a little sleep!
