We are taking a week and visiting relatives.
We will take a sleeper tonight to Eugene, OR. Then spend a couple of nights with my Aunt and her husband. They live in Redmond.
We plan to rent a car and drive to Boise, ID to spend three days with my brother. He moved there from Fresno in March.
Then we will come home thru Nevada and return the car in Fresno.
Marissa is really excited about being able to spend the night on the train. She has been full of questions. :)
Sure wish you could be here for the picnic in September. Maybe next year for the picnic. Hopefully this winter you can join a Support the Troops Rally.
That sounds like fun! I have always loved to travel by train, maybe because I started when small. I hope Marissa and all of you feel the same, although it seems you won't have that many daytime hours on the train.
You should see some stunning scenery on your trip. Too bad so many routes have been cut from Amtrak.
Sounds like an all-American trip to me!
WE arrive in Eugene at 3:15pm so we should have some time on the train.
We are looking forward to it. We love the train but it is no longer easy to get many places via train. :)
Fashion Furniture and LensCrafters are on our corner. Barnes and Noble moved further north but they were across the street. LOL He probably knows more than I do about what is there.

Holy cow, you guys!!! I didn't even know about this rally but Lager and I happened to be driving by Blackstone & Shaw and we saw all these Palestinian Jew haters on all four corners. We were livid so we pulled over.
Just then a big bus pulled up and it was the Patriots from the Riverdale Assembly of God. They streamed out with their sweet families and their American flags and signs.
They had patriotic music blasting and Lager started yelling at the Palestinian Jew haters and we drove them right off OUR corner!!!
They had the nerve to have a Palestinian flag and they had hateful anti-Israel signs. Not one of those "peace" nuts had an American flag which made me really mad! If they love their Palestinian flag so much why don't they go back to Jordan where they belong?
We chanted USA USA USA!! One man on our side yelled: "Jesus loves you!" That really made them mad. I said "I love Jews!!" over and over and we drowned them out.
It started to get ugly several times. One anti-Israel zealot, when she was leaving, pretended like she lost control of her car and tried to run up on the sidewalk where we were but the curb stopped her dead in her tracks.
A police car came by and honked for us!
It seemed that most passers-by were FOR us.
Lager and I had two American flags in our vehicle so we draped ourselves and it felt good to stand with others who love our country and stand with Israel.
Wow!!! It was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean it!!!!
The date of the next rally is September 21st - corner of Shaw & Blackstone!!!!
The Riverdale Assembly of God folks will be there. They want to make it a big event.
Wow!!! It was so great to freep with those guys from that Church. Even their young people were enthusiastic supporters of our country and of Israel.
They had wonderful signs and military flags. I told this one guy with a baby that he should watch his back but he said they were not afraid because God was watching over us.
One guy said "Read the back of the book - we win!!" (meaning the book of Revelation).
Lager and I had a great time freeping.
I was shocked to see them waving the Palestinian flag in our face. We had Old Glory to outshine theirs.
I can't figure out how it is that it's okay to hate and kill Jews again. I thought it would never happen again.
Anyway, I loved being there and Lager made a real stink; he was absolutely livid!! In fact he's still upset. He came home and started reading his Chaim Potok books.

Those anti-Americans hate our guts. Why are they here in America if they hate us so much? They had signs calling President Bush a liar and stuff like that. Why are they here??!!
I am grateful for the Riverdale Assembly of God Church for showing up like that and standing with Israel and with America.
I have never been so proud to be an American! There's something about that corner (Shaw & Blackstone). OUR CORNER!!!
