Question - if you ask for an extension to pay your income taxes, are you late? No. Last I looked, you still have to pay what appears to be due at that time by April 15, however.

Last I looked, you still have to pay what appears to be due at that time by April 15, however. However, you do not have to file the return until August 15th.
