Minuteman Civil Defense Corps Responds to Washington Times (Simcox)
Human Events ^ | Jul 29, 2006 | Chris Simcox

Recently, the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, Inc. (MCDC), and our fiduciary accountability has been called into question in reports in the Washington Times newspaper. Its editors continue to misrepresent the facts and have purposely based their reports and editorials on information that is inaccurate.

They continue in their attempt to hold us to a different and improperly applied fiduciary standard than any other non-profit in the country. Jerry Seper and Wes Pruden seem not to understand the first, most basic matters of non-profit accounting and regulatory obligation. Further, Pruden absurdly describes Seper’s reporting as “careful, rigorous” when Seper has not spoken to at least two of his three “sources” on this matter in over a year, and he and his editors deliberately failed to disclose in their innuendos regarding “where our money is spent,” that tens of thousands of dollars was spent on full-page issues advocacy advertising in the Washington Times itself.

A year ago, people called us racists and vigilantes. We have overcome those falsehoods with an organizational performance of diligence, responsibility and excellent stewardship of the resources entrusted to us by our supporters and volunteers. Our careful spending and high standards in the field, combined with the generosity and faithfulness of our citizen patriot supporters, have allowed us to grow rapidly and effectively, consistent with our mission. This has been accomplished, in part, by aggressive advertising and outreach to people across the country, putting a spotlight on the state of lawlessness at our wide-open borders which our government continues to tolerate......."[snip]

".... The leadership of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and its officers continue to have full faith and confidence in American Caging, Inc., who acts as our comptroller, and in our other accountability and legal professionals..........."

And I just have an awful feeling he's an opportunist (along with others) who will use this issue to make themselves and their pals some money and will reappear when the next big "issue" comes along.

I can't decide if he is the opportunist, or if he's being taken advantage of by opportunists. I do know that he's currently involved with opportunists.

You are thinking what I am thinking I think. LOL. I don't think Simcox has a clue about where the money is since the "professionals" took over.

That's what the OWNER of the property wanted. The OWNER of the property would not let him build the fence he wanted. As for keeping out illegals, we don't know and most likely never will.

If the owner wouldn't let him build something effective, I'm not sure I understand why he decided to build the owner a new cattle fence instead, when everyone including the owner seems to agree that it won't keep out people.

I'm betting the volunteers went home when the cameras did because they knew the fence wasn't what it ought to be.

Am I the only one thinking that CaL's posts on LP sounded an awful lot like EV's posts here?

Like maybe both were written by the same person or something?

My you are cynical. I am sure that EV doesn't have a hand hole in his back.

I hinted at the same thing, a bit up on this thread.

Either this is being scripted by one or the other of them, or perhaps they've mind melded. LOL

Wasn't it in one of the latest bits, posted by one of Simcox's sycophants here, wherein he claimed that the cattle fence was SYMBOLIC and that's all to the good; or some such?

"...I'm not sure I understand why he decided to build the owner a new cattle fence instead, when everyone including the owner seems to agree that it won't keep out people.."

The Rancher reeled him in like a fish. You can see the two rows of tall poles in front of the cattle fence that are suitable for chainlink fence with razor wire at the top and a road in the middle. That is part of an Israeli type fence. There is no reason for the tall poles if your intention is to build the cattle fence we see.

They started an Israeli type fence but had to back off. Once committed they had to build some fence and try to spin that that is what they wanted to do all along.

I saw at least 3 subtle "keep it up and get sued" threats in that screed by Cal.

Memories...........oh, memories.

Can anybody think of ANYTHING she's ever been involved in that didn't end up in a lawsuit?

I have heard that his 501C3 has been held up with no explanation, by the Feds.

Wow, that almost sounds like it came right out of Larry Klayman's mouth.

but if they were not worried she would not post there.

As I said, their response time has certainly picked up in the last few days, hasn't it?

Not since Martin Luther King has there been a more effective grassroots movement in America.

LOL........speaking of melodrama; nothing like having a damn high opinion of herself.
