Well, that's the point -- it is another era and if any regular person tried to do what she did they would have been arrested or at minimum put off the plane. I've ridden the DC shuttle with Newt Gingrich on board -- do you think that if he had done this, perky Katie wouldn't consider it newsworthy?

If Newt had so much as asked for a napkin the MSM would have gone bonkers, saying "How dare the meanest man in America expect to be treated like royalty by asking the attendant for a napkin!" The rich leftist elitists dream of ways the "little people" can be restricted but they themselves expect to be treated like kings and queens.

"an extended security check"

Rumors persist that CBS producers are a hothouse for forged documents.

"What this really means is that Hewitt failed to arrive at the airport in sufficient time to navigate security with the little people and as a result the computer automatically flagged his ticket for additional secuity procedures."

or they tried their "don't you know who I am" stunt AT security..and security got even..

No, she received special treatment. People like her are legends in their own mind and if it were those lying publicity machines; she would be a nobody.

BTW, I thought that SOP in this post 9-11 world is for the other passengers on the plane to body slam anyone who runs towards the cockpit.

DC to NYC flight. The Sheeple Express?

her producer, Nicola Hewitt

I wonder if this producer is related to the big CBS chief Don Hewitt? Perhaps La Katie was thinking about more than just getting her producer on board.

Whoever 'allowed' her into the cockpit should be fired. I'm sure that is NOT a Delta protocol.

What if a terrorist had been on board and with all the commotion he saw an opportunity? That possibility may be remote but it is serious. Protocol exists for a reason.

>Protocol exists for a reason.<

Yes, but only for the "little people".

The Important People, the ones who really know what matters and how important they are know that the entire terrorism hoo-rah is just a sideshow hatched by the right wing. Global warming, now, there is something worth thinking about...

and Delta's lying about no special treatment....the FAA rules are that you MUST arrive at check-in 15 minutes prior to the door closing - once that time passes, you're toast! I know, I just missed a flight out of Houston by arriving at check-in at 14 minutes til departure time...meaning I missed it by ONE MINUTE! but excuse me, I'm just one of the lowly peons in this country - NOT a big important person like little katie!

Wednesday's 6:30 p.m. Delta Shuttle flight out of Washington, D.C.,

Yeah ... the Delta shuttle to NY from DC flies every hour ... at least at peak periods of the day. Not like missing your flight will entail many hours delay, or, rerouting.

If the door is closed, the cellphone is supposed to be OFF!

Dude,

Katie's never seen a cockpit. She's completely assexual, and doesn't have the enthusiasm for it. She may even be a man. So wipe that smile from yer face.

Or, think Monica Bellucci, and keep smiling.

Some people are more equal than others though.

The fault is not in me. I don't do things like this or put empty shells on a pedestal.

Here's my issue with this. There is a federal regulation which requires you to be checked in at least 30 mins prior to the flight leaving. If they were checked in the door wouldn't have been closed unless of course they failed to respond.

I've seen people who have tried to protest this get the rubber glove treatment by the good ole TSA.

I'm not sure that's true anymore.I've read that airlines are more lenient regarding cell phones, etc before takeoff and after landing.

The next shuttle was at 7:30. A one hour wait. If Perkie Katie was that worried about being separated from her flunkie, she shouldn't have gotten on the airplane without her.
