But please do not compare us to the Islamics... In no way would a true Christian ever move to harm Isreal.

Of course I know that. And most Islamics do not condone violence.

But let's turn the argument around. How would you react if somone said that someday the Christians will realize that the Jewish view of the Messiah is really the correct one?

Col. North was on the Sean show yesterday. He had some interesting suggestions. I remember two of them. First, sell off the frozen Iranian assets, then, because Iran has little refining capacity of it's own and must import gasoline, diesel, etc., bar any country from shipping fuel to them.

Israel will finally recognize Jesus as the Messiah This is a blatantly antisemitic statement.>>>>>>>>>>>>

Agreed. Freepers, representative of a cross section of America, are from many different religions and remain silent most of the time. But as the Israeli soldiers go to war into what is ancient Sidon and Tyre, putting their lives on the line for all of us as it turns out, the statement you indicate is highly inappropriate. These men are putting their lives on the line and rest in the hand of God. But some people have to push their own religious agenda as if everybody here was universally with them, a measure of a strange, incoherant insecurity, pushin' it every chance that presents itself, as if that makes what is said more true to them than it would be otherwise.

God, if I know anything at all about him, is about fundamental kindness and unconditional love among men, not promotional theocracy, which is the very problem we are reluctantly but energetically fighting in Islamofascism, and he has always ridden into battle with Israel, messiah or no.

So Bless and protect our Israeli bretheren unconditionally. My heart goes out to them for the work that history and God demand they do. Many will be lost fighting not only for themselves, but for the entire free world and people of all of its religions.

"And most Islamics do not condone violence."

You gotta be kidding....

I have a Koran if you would like to borrow it.
A conquers religion that teaches them to kill anyone
or should I say murder anyone who will not convert.
It was given to me by some So called friends from Iraq.
After 9/11 they told me in their store that we deserved it
for helping the Jews.

I stormed out of the store and never went back.
About a month later they sold the store and it became a Dunkin Donuts

Watch your back.

Some of those Israeli soldiers look so young. They look like they're 16 years old and still in high school. Great pics...thanks for posting those.

Y'shua (in Latin, Jesus) was a Jew. According to His genealogy, He was a descendent of King David.

The first Christians were Jews.

The first Christian Church was in Jerusalem.

When Shaul (Paul) and Silas had questions concerning the Law as it applied to gentiles joining the Church, they went to the Jews in Jerusalem for counsel.

I know many Messianic Jews, and at least two Messianic synagogues, who proclaim Y'shua as Meshiach.

To say that Israel will welcome her Messiah and rule with Him over the Earth, is not only NOT anti-semitic, it is as PRO-semitic as you can get!!!!!

zeebee -- how can you have "utmost respect for different dogmas," when you consider that dogma "antisemitic"? Certainly you don't respect antisemiticism? I don't.

And that you correlated Christian's understanding of the Messiah with the Muslim's demand that you convert or die is ludicrous.

Good morning.
"Watch your back."

I just reread James Clavell's Whirlwind. It's enough to make you look over your shoulder, especially considering the response of Muslims to 9/11 and events today.

That's the way I saw it. But I'm not looking for a theological extropolation of the concept of redemption and a Messiah, I'm looking to work with our allies to preserve Western civilization.

And Israel gets that support hands down.

Islamics following the Koran do condone violence, it is all over their sacred writings.

As far as someone saying someday I will realize the Jews were right and they were wrong, doesn't bother me. There are many other religions and cults that think my beliefs are wrong. As long as they don't try to convert me at the point of a rifle or a rusty knife applied to the throat we have no arguement. They do not threaten my beliefs.

The only reaction they would get from me is a sincere prayer for their understanding of Truth. And if they did show up with the gun or knife, I would unhesitatingly die for my beliefs.

Christians mean no harm when we pray for Israel or try to bring the Gospel to them. As I said before, my Savior is a Jew, and I hold no malice towards them, and am most definitely not antisemitic.

Not individuals, but nations. There is a judgement for individuals that each of us will face. However, God also judges nations (ie: Sodom and Gomorrah, the Amelkites, etc)

When a Christian says that someday the Jews will disbelieve their traditions and come around to the Christian way, that is antisemitic.

Christianity is obviously not antisemitic, but there are fundamental differences between Christian and Jewish beliefs that must be respected.

There are a whole lot of Muslims in this world who are not violent. President Bush does not believe all Muslims are violent. Islamofascists are a different story.

Tel Aviv: Thousands rally against war

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3279792,00.html

Thousands march in Tel Aviv to protest Lebanon fighting, call on soldiers to refuse taking part in war. Clashes with passersby erupt during event, activists called 'traitors'

Thousands of left-wing activists, including many Arab citizens, marched Saturday evening from the Rabin Square to the Cinematheque plaza in Tel Aviv in protest of the fighting in Lebanon. The protestors held up signs with slogans against the war and called for an immediate ceasefire.

According to the demonstrators, a prisoner exchange deal with Hizbullah must be struck, as well as a similar deal with Hamas. Marchers also urged IDF soldiers not to take part in the Lebanon operation, chanting: "Listen up, soldier – it's your duty to refuse." Other slogans recited by the participants were: "The occupation is a disaster, leave Lebanon now," "Olmert and Bush have struck a deal – to carry on with the occupation," and "Children in Beirut and Haifa want to go on living."

The activists, among them Knesset Member Mohammad Barakeh (Hadash) and other Arab MKs, waved a Palestinian flag as well as red flags adorned with the communist hammer and sickle symbol. Signs with the motto "Peace Now" were also raised in the rally, but the organization stressed it did not take part in the event.

 'Army of destruction'

Former Education Minister Shulamit Aloni, who spoke in the demonstration, said that "the government has allowed the destructive powers of the army to drag us into the killing. The Defense Forces cannot be tuned into the army of occupation and killing. We must call in international forces, negotiate and make peace."

During the event, a counter-demonstration has formed across from the rally, and rightist protesters held up "Traitors, we are fed up with you" signs. Protesters also waved Israel flags and flags of the Golani Brigade.

A skirmish broke out between activists from both sides, while some infuriated passersby cursed the leftist protesters and called them, "Hizbullahniks." Others threw garbage bags at the activists and shouted: "A good Arab is a dead Arab," and "If only a rocket fell on you."

Large police and SWAT units secured the event and kept opponents away from where the rally was held.

Despite the clashes, the organizers of the march said they were pleased with the surprisingly large number of participants, and encouraged by the public's reaction against the Lebanon operation.

Allow me to correct myself somewhat.

The word "antisemitic" is very loaded and is not appropriate here. Antisemitism implies violence and fascism.

Christians feeling that Jews will someday recognize Jesus as the Messiah is not antisemitic. It is disrespectful of the Jewish tradition, and it is the real reason that more Jews are not Republican, but it is not antisemitism.

Wasn't Lot allowed to escape as being the only good person ? Same as with Noah ?

Kind of proves that God judged every individual dosen't it ?

Or are you saying that God subscribes to the old saying " Kill 'em all, let ME sort them out "

No, what I am saying is that nations that will exist during the millenium will do so on the basis of how they treated the Jewish people. Nations that are irretrievable evil will be wiped out. Righteous people from those nations will still exist, but will their nations will not.

Remember God did not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah until all righteous people were removed. Lot and his family survived and presumable joined another city/nation
