p.s. Thanks for your kind offer; hopefully they will fix it promptly this time & I will be able to get it back to him quickly.I think once he is home he will just buy a new one (elsewhere; not Gateway) and be done with it.

Tell him to do his research on the net first,before he goes with just nay company.

He might want to look into buying the components via Internet for a computer and putting it all together himself.

My hubby taught himself how to put a computer together,after our very first one gave up.

It's really not that hard and only takes a couple of hours,before it is up and running.

We have all the websites book marked that over the best prices and components for a computer.

Like I said I can ask my hubby if this is possible with a laptop.

The best thing about this is, that it doesn't matter where in the world you are and something malfunctions you just take the component out of your computer and send it back to the company and they'll replace it,if it is still under warranty (usually 12 month).

If they have it in stock it'll only take a week and you are back in business.
