The roots of modern Islamic terrorism.............
“One of the first acts of the new Communist International was to call a ‘Congress of the Peoples of the East’ in Baku in September 1920. Although the emphasis at this congress was on antiwesternism rather than on a ‘proletarian’ revolution, the leaders were Comintern figures: Zinoviev, Radek, Bela Kun. About 2,000 easterners were present, including 235 Turks, 192 Persians, 157 Armenians, and a few Chinese.
....Zinoviev brought a long speech to a passionate oratorical climax with the following outburst: ‘The real revolution will blaze up only when the 800,000,000 people who live in Asia unite with us, when the African continent unites, when we see that hundreds of millions of people are in movement. Now we must kindle a real holy war against the British and French capitalists.....We must say that the hour has struck when the workers of the whole world are able to arouse tens of millions of peasants, to create a Red Army in the East, to arm and organize uprisings in the rear of the British, to poison the existence of every impudent British officer who lords over Turkey, Persia, India, China.’
At this moment the audience, mostly clad in colorful oriental costumes, sprang up. Swords, sabers, and revolvers were flourished in the air, while the vow of jehad, or holy war, was pronounced. Radek endeavored to conjure up the spirit of Tamerlane and Genghiz Khan. After saying that the East, under capitalist oppression, created a philosopy of patience, he added:
‘We appeal, comrades, to the spirit of struggle which once animated the peoples of the East when they marched against Europe under the leadership of their great conquerors. And when the capitalists of Europe say that there is the menace of a new wave of barbarism, a new wave of Huns, we reply: Long live the Red East, which, together with the workers of Europe, will create a new culture under the banner of communism.’
Although the immediate results were limited, the congress showed the direction and trend of the Comintern’s drive in the Orient.”

Wow...great article.
Uranium, missiles, and terrorism.......from Russia with love!
Glad I’m learning Russian....Farsi’s on deck.
Now that’s truly funny. Where’d you find that!!!
FReeper camerakid400 posted the original one, except Condi was the person to Putin’s right. I wasn’t sure why she was there, so I photoshopped Assad in instead...with his expression it looks funnier.
Her face was probably there because she occasionally (and inexplicably) runs interference for some of Russia’s worst behavior. Perhaps you will remember the following quote when Russia, France and Germany ganged up on Bush re: the Iraq war:
“Punish France, ignore Germany and forgive Russia”

Iran became Russias most loyal ally after the Islamic revolution in 1979. This relationship has lasted over two decades, and is still cherished by the Islamists among Shiite clergy and security services. When Soviet troops invaded Afghanistan later the same year, there was only one spontaneous demonstration in Tehran, after which Iran has tamely followed Russias actions against neighbouring Muslim people.
The Iranian revolution took the KGB by surprise, but it was a pleasant surprise, and the Soviet Union choose to side with the Islamist revolutionaries already by November 1978.
Through these phases, Russian secret services gained a tight hold on international terrorism, and specially on Islamism. It was nothing new.
During the 1920s, Soviet intelligence had succeeded in thoroughly infiltrating fiercely anti-Soviet monarchist emigrant organizations. Furthermore, “dozens of mythical organizations came into being.
It is a shame tens of millions of muslim have not a clue as how they have been used over the past sixty years or so by the Russians.
Greetings
Beheshti (Dr. Seyed Mohmmad Hosseini Beheshti) did not reside in East Germany but in Hamburg where the Hamburg Mosque is located and took over as its director for five years. And that does not automatically make him a KGB agent.
kind regards

Islamic terrorism comes from Islam, and has been a feature of the cult since the beginning.
Both Russia and the US were stupid enough to think they could use this against each other during the Cold War.
Both of them had obviously forgotten that the way the Muslims got to overrun Spain in the 8th century, shortly after the foundation of the cult, was that they had been INVITED in by a king who was warring on another king and thought he could use them to attack his enemy. They did attack his enemy - after killing the first king himself, of course - and then went on to attack all of Spain.
This is playing out just the same way.
I emailed the author with your information, here is his response:
So, Beheshti was already in Hamburg, 20 years before Atta? Then my sources (some books - I have no confirmation by German sources) got it wrong, although he may still have spend some time in East Germany too. The residence in Hamburg seems to be confirmed on Wikipedia and other new internet sources too. Of course, many innocent people studied in the Soviet bloc, and that alone would not be any evidence, although reasons for suspicion. He seems to have returned to Iran in 1970, and remained there until 1977, but travelled then somewhere and appeared next year in Paris (http://www.dartabligh.org/biographies/ShaheedBeheshti.html). Probably he was deeply influenced by the communist (Baader-Meinhof/RAF) terror in West Germany, which emerged soon after the Shah’s visit to Berlin in June 1967.
