The Israel Air Force on Saturday night struck Hizbullah's main headquarters in a southern suburb of Beirut. There were no reports of injuries. (Ynet)
Hello,
Welcome to FR!
Glad to be here, MOgirl
Interesting. Surprising even.
Agreed.
Any reports of deaths?
Courtesy of shortsighted politicians and environmental terrorists.>
Not accidental at all! Total subversive strategy on the part of the communists.
Shut down our energy production and refinement capability without firing a shot!
But no injuries. All those Iranian-backed Hezbollah need to be dispatched to the hereafter posthaste.
The Hezbollah "leaders" were reported getting out of Dodge, yesterday. They are probably sunning on the Riviera while their foot soldiers take it on the chin.
"Where are the weapons caches and why haven't those been hit?"
I agree with your point. I would think that the IDF would have a preapproved list of 100 targets 'in the event' and would be executing on those targets. The result would be a series of devastating attacks that should already have happened.
What we are seeing is a building here and there, some bridges, and what, three hits on the runway of the airport.
I am a strong supporter of Israel in this conflict but I have to say I am underwhelmed by what I am seeing. Perhaps there is a great deal going on that isn't getting reported -- I hope so. Because the clock is ticking on this one; the window of opportunity is there but it won't stay open forever.
Blowing up empty buildings may destroy some records and a meeting place, but the I thought the objective was to devastate Hezbollah, not cause them some accounting problems. I would have expected to see munitions dumps captured or exploding at a minimum.
Now I'll be glad to be proven wrong, but not just 'reassured'.
not really, the UN can't call for anything with a US veto.
Well, that lasted about 15 seconds.
Keep in mind, Hezbollah is not a conventinal military. They don't keep their assets lined up the Egyptoans in 67 or like the Iraqis in 91, out there to be picked off by air power.
Their stuff is hidden in homes, civilian areas and constantly on the move in small units.
Just look at Iraq, we have the biggest, best AF in the world, the enemy has no AF at all and no real AA at all and we still haven't been able to take out their stores by air. They still have tons of IEDs, RPGs, mortars, guns, etc... They're still plenty capable of hitting our guys and of wreaking havoc in Iraq. And we've been there for 3 years. Israelhas been doing this for 3 days.
The only way to do it is on the ground, and even then, as has been shown in Iraq, it's rather difficult.
I suspect israel is preparing for a larger ground offensive. They called up the reserves a few days ago and they don't do that for kicks. They should be fully ready by the end of the weekend/beginning of the week and at thath point, I think the softening up by air will be done and they'll go in and clean out the stuff on the ground. At least in the South and in the Bekaa
"The long range missiles have been stored by Hezbollah inside civilian homes."
Typically used for coffee tables or ottomans. Just throw a prayer mat on top...Walla!
But that won't stop the locals from carrying each other around in a hurry for the Western media cameras.
Darn, and I bet it was good, too!
The way to solve it is to throw a hell of a lot of small arms into the place and isolate it for a while
Kill whomever rises to the top if they are violent.
shhhhhhh.... http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j195/dougfromupland/Israelijetssolvecockroachproblem.jpg
