DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Syria will put its resources at the disposal of Lebanon to help cope with Israeli attacks devastating the country, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told Lebanese President Emile Lahoud by phone on Saturday.

The official news agency SANA said Assad expressed solidarity with Lebanon, where Israeli bombing has killed around 100 civilians since Hizbollah captured two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border operation on Wednesday.
It was the first comment by Assad since the confrontation began between Israel and Hizbollah, which is backed by Syria and Iran.
SANA did not say whether Assad discussed Hizbollah during the telephone call with Lahoud and gave no details on what kind of help he was offering.

Iran is the instigator here. Syria is Iran's puppet in this one. The axis of evil acts again.

I dunno. Syria is doing a lot of talking, but they're not doing anything else.
So far.

It means that Assad is noting that there is a difference between Lebanese and Hezbollah (who are Palestinian immigrants, mostly illegals). I think that the Hezbollah are primarily Shiites from South Lebanon. The Hamas are Palestinian.

Southack I
know that, I can easily see your point, what I can't get my mind around is that Iran would abandon their own people and allow them to be smashed along with Hezbollah. That doesn't make sense.
Oh well there are lots of things I don't understand about the Arab Parallel Universe.

That doesn't make sense. Why not? Any country that can kill off thousands of it's own citizens will have no problem egging on Palestinians and Lebanese to battle Israel and then leaving them hanging on the line...

No dirt boy it does not and should not ever make sense to a rational, logical, mind.
It could however make sense in a preprogrammed Islamoblowbot's "mind" if you could call what is in their skulls a mind.

"Syria would accommodate the refugees and treat them like Syrians"
Yeah, and that will be reassuring to anyone familiar with the tyrannical hellhole that is Syria........
Maybe he means treat them like this?.......

of course, there was a great deal of Muslim Brotherhood activity in Hama, so Papa Assad had reason to regard them as dangerous terrorists...... and this is how SYRIA deals with threats to their own security, civilians be damned:
Hama 1982 The Syrian massacre you never heard about In 1982 the Syrian government killed 30,000 40,000 of its own citizens. Assad leveled an entire city with an air bombardment followed by artillery and tank fire. Why? They were anti Baath party, and apparently in 1982 in Syria that was a death sentence

I am behind what South has to say in this post. One must always for one compare what historical trends have been established in how the various goon groups poke and spit at Israel.
Syria would have to be nuts to actually start an armed conflict with Israel at this point. They know they would only loose big time in the way of ground troops/mobile units, AAA, SAM, their communication nets on the western parimeter, any aircraft that went up to engage.
Iran is to far away and isolated geographically to actually fight either ground or air battles with Israel.
They are simply dangerous blow mouths for their own cause, (eraser head syndrom), and Bashar the little lion is somewhat caught in the middle as usual.
Israel knows exactly how far it can go and no further. They will be carefull to not produce a regional conflict. And again the only regional opposition they would have is Lebanon (very unwillingly) and Syria.
So as South has voiced more then once, we should be carefull of all the knee jerking supposed experts in the L/MSM. Half the time they don't know what they are talking about.

No dirt boy it does not and should not ever make sense to a rational, logical, mind.Your problem ( and those of us i n the western judao-Christian mindset ) is that we value each individual as a precious resource....I don't think that same value judgement exists in the Iranian-Muslim world,,,,,it is that fact that the terrorist's are using....they have no problem with the use of suicide bombers to achieve some objective....
