The real target is southern lebannon to clear out Hezbollah, but all of the bakaa valley is a big target as well. It will be symbolic because even though its part of Lebannon, Syria refused to remove its thugs and military from the eastern part of the valley who still operate there. I don't think Israel will attempt a full campaign in Syria. But Israel will get close enough to make the Syrians their bitches in the end.
If Israel punches through there, which I suspect they are going to do so, Syria is going to have less to negotiate with, and when it comes to muslims, everything is about "negotiating". Its how they live their whole lives and culture. Everything is "let's make a deal" and who has leverage in the negotiations.
...... Its how they live their whole lives and culture.....
Wow, a FReeper who understands.
Americans like to deal to work and make something. The Arabs historically have little or nothing but time and prefer the small victories of negotiation to the end objective.
