Israeli gunners cover their ears as an artillery piece fires into southern Lebanon from a position on the border near Kiryat Shmona, northern Israel, Friday, July 14, 2006.
Dittos. Thanks, jeffers, and thanks Karl for this thread!
No, not unless I was asking a question during Katrina.
Do those tanks or artillery pieces run on JP8 like ours?
You're welcome. Those CIA maps are really pretty good. I've got a folder on my hard drive with several saved.
I'm pretty sure Anderson Cooper cut his teeth in the Balkan conflict.
Dan Rather should be checking into the Beirut Kinkos to file his report for AOL.
Wow..it was that long ago, wasn't it..
BUT, doesn't it seem NOW like it could have just happened...everything is the same...same enemies..same failures at peace "talks"...
I never hear or read the name "Beirut" without associating it with the Marine barracks, and our dead Marines..ever.
Cut Gaza in two, let them work around that, keeping them on ice while concentrating on larger threat(s) up north.
Nice work. Beyond harassing fires from S. Lebanon, neither Hizb nor Hamas are real threats, but Syria is, and Israel has to maintain a healthy reserve to deal with that issue. They will.
There's plenty of time to hunt down individual terrorists in Gaza, and Israel will, but they also won't miss targets of opportunity.
Sorry, didn't mean to get it wrong, but I know you and I had a conversation on something a couple of years back and I can't remember what it was about. Forgive the interruption.
As I remember it Haig was sweating bullets and quite nervous, and his voice was halting and unsteady. I felt sorry for the guy because he was in a tough spot. The reporters were wanting a statement from him, and he was obviously not well prepared to make one at that particular point.
OTOH, it's been almost 25 years since that event and I may be only remembering my subjective impression of Haig's brief appearance. Other viewers may have interpreted it differently, but the liberal crowd in my office thought Haig made a fool of himself. I just thought he was not very well prepared for all that had happened, but who would have been prepared under those extremely stressful circumstances?
Exactly.
It's not just a slogan. It's reality.
Wait and see!
He's our kind of guy. I would seriously consider voting for him as pres. Would he get the left in a wad or what? :o)
I have seen requests to be added to a ping list.
If you are putting one together, add me.
Thanks.
'crackheads'
that's funny
I believe their main battle tanks are diesel engines.
"...never listen to what they say, watch at what they do."
I suggest adding: research who they surround themselves with - on and off the screen.
That's all he can ask for, or want. Gods Speed to your son>>
Muslims have become very adept at saying what people want to hear and doing what they want to do.
