From NRO THe Corner:

"Novak on FOX Tonight [Kate O'Beirne]
. . . when we will again see that memories about Plame conversations don't match. Bob Novak and Karl Rove and Bill Harlow have different recollections about their conversations. Bob Woodward and Walter Pincus recall their Plame/Wilson conversation differently. Judith Miller has different recollections than her NY Times editors. Time magazine's Viveca Novak and Rove's attorney Bob Luskin disagree about what was said over drinks. But Scooter Libby's memory is the only one that merits criminal charges and it appears that investigators have known that the disclosure of Plame's employment was "inadvertent" since the Fall of 2003. This investigation and the indictment are ridiculous."

Ain't that the truth; no one has the same recollection about any conversation, but LIbby gets indicted and all the others walk. Look for charges against Libby to be dismissed soon. This whole thing was a witch hunt. Based on the latest transcript, it appears that Time Mag (Cooper and his other co-author) conferred with WIlson, and came up with the whole scheme to blame the inadvertant non-outing of the non-spy into an attempt by some individuals to get Wilson. Fitzy should be embarrased. The judge who allowed this case to continue should be embarrased. Wilson should be made to pay all of Libby's expenses (or his gal-pal-Val should pay with proceeds from her book). (Oooops, didn't her book deal get cancelled???)

Brit did a great job as usual.

That was poor Bob Packwood of Oregon. What he did was NOTHING compared to the Sinkmeister. Old Bob didn't understand that times had changed. What he viewed as innocent flirtation was now sexual harassment.

I remember being a young secretary, and some of the stuff some of the older men at work used to do or say would result in firing and lawsuits today.

If it was Armitage why wouldn't he 'fess up? He's already been outed as Woodward's source.

You could also see how totally devasted he was when she finally left him. You could tell he truly loved her, and I think it took a lot out of him, and aged him quite a bit. He just hasn't been the same since.

It took him a while to get it out, but he was exactly right - no secret agent - no crime - no story.

Yeah, who do we believe? The person who actually KNOWS something, or the MSM, fueled by Fitz, who refuses to give up the ghost on this? I hope Scooter mops the floor with Fitz.

Oh, I saw that too. He was slurring pretty badly. He either fell off the wagon or was stoned.

$10 bucks Chris and Keith Overbite will chalk it all up to Novak being on Fox News and nothing on Fox is Facts. Betcha dollar to none! It will all come down to Fox News is a sister to the Republican Party and their hacks. Same ole story.

think Novak's source is Powell Novak said he was very high up and hard to get an interview with...Powell was very busy at that time and his schedule was booked.

....and the conversation was mostly foreeign policy (Powell or Armitage)...and that he's no longer in govt.(Powell)....and the Air Force 1 rumours involved Powell also, iirc.

Answer: Colin Powell.

As much as Mort pulls my chain, I got to hand it to him the way he cared for his wife during her lengthy illness

Indeed. Mort is a decent man, despite his liberal tendencies, and his and Millie's life together was a REAL love story. He's also very likeable. He and Fred together are a hoot.

Here's a question for you.

What high official would not want to be in a position to call Novak and say he screwed up (by inadvertently mentioning Plame) and, instead, asked his pool boy to make the call?

Here's a hint: His last name begins with a P and not an A, IMO.

This interview confirmed every piece of information and speculation that the Freepers have posted over the last, what? 2 years!

Jow Wilson did his little distraction trick, put money in his pocket, got a bunch of free trips and denied Cheney one of his top staff members.

I hope Libby sues the hell out of all of them in civil court!

Thanks for the great transcription, Peach, you are excused. ;-) lol
