British Terror Link to Mumbai Train Blasts?

As many as 190 people have been killed and 625 injured by seven bombs on the train network in the Indian financial capital Mumbai (Bombay).

The first of the near-simultaneous blasts exploded during the rush hour on the Western Railway. Correspondents spoke of scenes of pandemonium, with people jumping from trains and bodies flung onto tracks (http://www.hindu.com/thehindu/holnus/000200607120901.htm ).

A news release from the British-based anti terror organization Vigil Network reminded readers that the bombings come a year after the London massacre, referred to as 7/7 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7_July_2005_London_bombings ). In addition, Vigil’s news release reminded, the date of the World Trade Center attacks was of course 9/11, and the date of the Madrid bombings 3/11 (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3504912.stm ). Now comes this massacre on 7/11, the release starkly stated.

So could there be a British terror link? Vigil’s Whiteman believes so.

Just over a week ago, Whiteman said, a group of radical Muslims were meeting in Birmingham, England in a community center.

They were a mix of extremists from al Ghurabaa, the Savior Sect, the Society of Muslim lawyers and other spin-offs from Hitz-ut-Tahrir and the now banned Al Mujahiroun group. The speeches made were recorded on al Ghurabaa’s website (www.alghurabaa.co.uk).

A Graphic Reminder of Terror Posted on the www.alghurabaa.co.uk website.

Commenting in a news release, Whiteman described the scene, “Abu Izadeen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Izzadeen ) took the microphone in this grimy hall, and went off into an hour-long diatribe about how Britain could avoid another 7/7 attack. Following the U.K’s strict 2006 Terror Act banning even the glorification of terrorism, he made a point of specifically mentioning the words “glorifying” and “terrorism”, saying that he would never do such a thing. (That was) before mentioning 911 to a chorus of ‘allah akbar’ (meaning allah is the greatest), and singing the praises of Osama. (He then added) the words Bin Zaid to the sentence after a purposefully long pause. He was clearly making fun of the 2006 Terror Act and purposefully sailing close to the new laws of what he described as ‘the infidel British government.’”

During the hour-long diatribe, Whiteman commented that Izadeen mentioned, “almost longingly” at the time, that there was a “7/7, a 3/11, a 9/11 (again to cries of ‘allah akbar’ from those gathered) and a 7/11….no, no …..er…..that is …er… a shop” (a reference to the 7/11 convenience store chain).

“These people talk in riddles,” Whiteman continued, “Not just to avoid glorification of terror laws, but to convey messages to their radical ‘brothers’ all round the world. We found it strange at the time that the prominent members of the groups present failed to laugh at all at this ‘joke’ by Izadeen, yet they roared with laughter at his other attempts at humor. Why was this? Why also did this part of the meeting get videoed by the extremists, and then get posted the very next day on the al Ghurabaa website when other speeches were ignored? Their media machine was very active so many days before the 7/7 anniversary. Was this a sign for the bombers in India to act? Where did these bombers come from? Were they what they call ‘jihadists’ sent from Britain, like the suicide bombers of ‘Mike’s Place’ in Israel (http://www.mikesplacebars.com ) or others linked to these British-based groups? There are many unanswered questions, but we’ll make sure Izadeen’s words are only forgotten when proved or disproved.”

Abu Izadeen, Vigil stated, is currently being investigated by the British police. Information on him is being analyzed by the British Crown Prosecution Service. Another 40 hours of recordings of him have been secretly collected by Vigil, and have also been passed onto the British authorities.

Whiteman commented, “Izadeen is fast becoming a well-known trouble-maker in Britain, just like his mentor the preacher Omar Bakri Mohammed ,who fled to Beirut in August 2005 when he thought the British authorities were going to imprison him on little known treason laws.”

Whiteman said that Izadeen’s future looks dismal.

“If a link is proved,” Whiteman said, “it is likely Bakri will be investigated also, as he has been cyber-preaching from Beirut to British extremists through the U.S.-based Paltalk network, and it is known that Izadeen and Bakri are close. Following his 7/11 comments on July 2 in Birmingham, the question are will he be investigated for involvement in mass murder or was he just talking about a ‘shop?’”

Whiteman said, “We are preparing our dossier for the Indian military attache here in London, and expect the Izadeen comments to be examined as well as web traffic to the al Ghurabaa site since the July 2 conference, especially by Indian intelligence. In his speech, Izadeen tried to be clever. Cleverness is not wisdom. Izadeen’s comments were – especially in retrospect - most unwise, whether by chance or on purpose.”

"Intelligence Report links Janjaweed to al Qaeda"
By Douglas Farah

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A recent international intelligence document says there are credible reports that a cadre of about 15 al Qaeda operatives in Sudan are providing training to troops under the control of Janjaweed leader Musa Hilal.

This is striking given the recent mentions of the janjaweed in Osama bin Laden's most recent public pronouncements, where the Arabs fighters in Sudan are congratulated along with the Islamists in Somalia."

"Iraq Pre-War Intel Being Ignored, Says Top Republican"
By Monisha Bansal
CNSNews.com Staff Writer
July 12, 2006

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "(CNSNews.com) - The Republican chairman of the U.S. House committee with jurisdiction over foreign intelligence, conceded Tuesday that the many documents discovered by the U.S. military in Iraq following the toppling of Saddam Hussein's regime are no longer a priority for most intelligence experts.

Those documents, as Cybercast News Service previously reported, included memos containing the letterhead of the Iraqi Intelligence Service and revealing Saddam's purchase of mustard gas and anthrax - both considered weapons of mass destruction - as recently as the summer of 2000 and his extensive ties to al Qaeda.

"I believe there is still a tremendous amount of stuff on pre-war Iraq that we do not know and that we do not understand," said U.S. Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.), chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence."

Olmert: We were attacked by a sovereign country
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3274385,00.html ^

Posted on 07/12/2006 4:08:52 AM PDT by croak

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Wednesday that "the events this morning are not terror attacks but actions of a sovereign state that attacked Israel for no reason. The Lebanese government, of which Hizbullah is a member, is trying to destabilize regional stability. Lebanon is responsible and it will bear responsibility."

He added: "At this moment security forces are operating in Lebanese territory and this evening the government will meet to approve the continuation of the operation in Lebanon."

"These are difficult days for the State of Israel and its citizens. There are elements in the north and south that threaten our stability and challenge our stamina and determination," the PM sated. "They will fail and pay a dear price for their actions," he added.

Subject: Understand the Suicide Bombers Mindset. It won't go away!

Subject: Suicide Bombers

You will find this both interesting and very frightening! This is a Must read. We as Western Civilization DO NOT understand what we are dealing with. This is the best effort I've seen explaining the mentalitiy of what the terrorists are pushing.

Being politically correct is often used as cover for not being truthful and honest in working solutions to issues! Also known as "Kicking the can down the road" to avoid confronting and honestly settling a problem; or, sticking your head in the sand hoping the problem doesn't exist or will just go away.

Pierre Rehov, French Documentary Filmmaker

On July 15, MSNBC's "Connected" program discussed the 7/7 London attacks. One of the guests was Pierre Rehov, a French filmmaker who has filmed six documentaries on the intifada by going undercover in the Palestinian areas.

Pierre's upcoming film, "Suicide Killers," is based on interviews that he conducted with the families of suicide bombers and would-be bombers in an attempt to find out why they do it. Pierre agreed to a request for a Q&A interview here about his work on the new film. Many thanks to Dean Draznin and Arlyn Riskind for helping to arrange this special interview.

What inspired you to produce "Suicide Killers," your seventh film?

I started working with victims of suicide attacks to make a film on PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder) when I became fascinated with the personalities of those who had committed those crimes, as they were described again and again by their victims. Especially the fact that suicide bombers are ll smiling one second before they blow themselves up.

Why is this film especially important?

People don't understand the devastating culture behind this unbelievable phenomenon. My film is not politically correct because it addresses the real problem-showing the real face of Islam. It points the finger against a culture of hatred in which the uneducated are brainwashed to a level where their only solution in life becomes to kill themselves and kill others in the name of a God whose word, as transmitted by other men, has become their only certitude.

What insights did you gain from making this film? What do you know that other experts do not know?

I came to the conclusion that we are facing a neurosis at the level of an entire civilization. Most neuroses have in common a dramatic event, generally linked to an unacceptable sexual behavior. In this case, we are talking of kids living all their lives in pure frustration, with no opportunity to experience sex, love, tenderness, or even understanding from the opposite sex. The separation between men and women in Islam is absolute. So is contempt toward women, who are totally dominated by men. This leads to a situation of pure anxiety, in which normal behavior is not possible. It is no coincidence that suicide killers are mostly young men dominated subconsciously by an overwhelming libido that they not only cannot satisfy but are afraid of, as if it is the work of the devil. Since Islam describes heaven as a place where everything on earth will finally be allowed, and promises 72 virgins to those frustrated kids, killing others and killing themselves to reach this redemption becomes their only solution.

What was it like to interview would-be suicide bombers, their families, and survivors of suicide bombings?

It was a fascinating and a terrifying experience. You are dealing with seemingly normal people with very nice manners who have their own logic, which to a certain extent can make sense since they are so convinced that what they say is true. It is like dealing with pure craziness, like interviewing people in an asylum, since what they say, is for them, the absolute truth. I hear a mother saying "Thank God, my son is dead." Her son had became a shaheed, a martyr, which for her was a greater source of pride than if he had became an engineer, a doctor or a winner of the Nobel Prize. This system of values works completely backwards since their interpretation of Islam worships death much more than life.

You are facing people whose only dream, only achievement is to fulfill what they believe to be their destiny, namely to be a shaheed or the family of a shaheed. They don't see the innocent being killed they only see the impure that they have to destroy.

You say suicide bombers experience a moment of absolute power, beyond punishment. Is death the ultimate power?

Not death as an end, but death as a door open to the afterlife. They are seeking the reward that God has promised them. They work for God, the ultimate authority, above all human laws. They therefore experience this single delusional second of absolute power, where nothing bad can ever happen to them, since they become God's sword.

Is there a suicide bomber personality profile? Describe the psychopathology.

Generally kids between 15 and 25 bearing a lot of complexes, generally inferiority complexes. They must have been fed with religion. They usually have a lack of developed personality. Usually they are impressionable idealists. In the western world they would easily have become drug addicts, but not criminals. Interestingly, they are not criminals since they don't see good and evil the same way that we do. If they had been raised in an Occidental culture, they would have hated violence. But they constantly battle against their own death anxiety. The only solution to this deep-seated pathology is to be willing to die and be rewarded in the after life in Paradise.

Are suicide bombers principally motivated by religious conviction?

Yes, it is their only conviction. They don't act to gain a territory or to find freedom or even dignity. They only follow Allah, the supreme judge, and what He tells them to do.

Do all Muslims interpret jihad and martyrdom in the same way?

All Muslim believers believe that, ultimately, Islam will prevail on earth. They believe this is the only true religion and there is no room, in their mind, for interpretation. The main difference between moderate Muslims and extremists is that moderate Muslims don't think they will see the absolute victory of Islam during their life time, therefore they respect other beliefs. The extremists believe that the fulfillment of the Prophecy of Islam and ruling the entire world, as described in the Koran, is for today. Each victory of Bin Laden convinces 20 million moderate Muslims to become extremists.

Describe the culture that manufactures suicide bombers.

Oppression, lack of freedom, brain washing, organized poverty, placing God in charge of daily life, total separation between men and women, forbidding sex, giving women no power whatsoever, and placing men in charge of family honor, which is mainly connected to their women's behavior.

What socio-economic forces support the perpetuation of suicide bombings?

Muslim charity is usually a cover for supporting terrorist organizations. But one has also to look at countries like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Iran, which are also supporting the same organizations through different networks. The ironic thing in the case of Palestinian suicide bombers is that most of the money comes through financial support from the Occidental world, donated to a culture that utterly hates and rejects the West (mainly symbolized by Israel).

Is there a financial support network for the families of the suicide bombers? If so, who is paying them and how does that affect the decision?

There used to be a financial incentive in the days of Saddam Hussein ($25,000 per family) and Yasser Arafat (smaller amounts), but these days are gone. It is a mistake to believe that these families would sacrifice their children for money. Although, the children themselves who are very attached to their families, might find in this financial support another reason to become suicide bombers. It is like buying a life insurance policy and then committing suicide.

Why are so many suicide bombers young men?

As discussed above, libido is paramount. Also ego, because this is a sure way to become a hero. The shaheeds are the cowboys or the firemen of Islam. Shaheed is a positively reinforced value in this culture. And what kid has never dreamed of becoming a cowboy or a fireman?

What role does the U.N. play in the terrorist equation?

The UN is in the hands of Arab countries and third world or ex-communists countries. Their hands are tied. The UN has condemned Israel more than any other country in the world, including the regime of Castro, Idi Amin, or Kaddahfi. By behaving this way, the UN leaves a door open by not openly condemning terrorist organizations. In addition, through UNRWA, the UN is directly tied to terror organizations such as Hamas, representing 65 percent of their apparatus in the so-called Palestinian refugee camps. As a support to Arab countries, the UN has maintained Palestinians in camps with the hope to "return" into Israel for more than 50 years, therefore making it impossible to settle those populations, which still live in deplorable conditions. Four-hundred million dollars are spent every year, mainly financed by U.S. taxes, to support 23,000 employees of UNRWA, many of whom belong to terrorist organizations (see Congressman Eric Cantor on this subject, and in my film "Hostages of Hatred"). You say that a suicide bomber is a 'stupid bomb and a smart bomb' simultaneously.

Explain what you mean.

Unlike an electronic device, a suicide killer has until the last second the capacity to change his mind.In reality, he is nothing but a platform representing interests which are not his, but he doesn't know it.

How can we put an end to the madness of suicide bombings and terrorism in general?

Stop being politically correct and stop believing that this culture is a victim of ours. Radical Islamism today is nothing but a new form of Nazism. Nobody was trying to justify or excuse Hitler in the 1930s. We had to defeat him in order to make peace one day with the German people.

Are these men traveling outside their native areas in large numbers? Based on your research, would you predict that we are beginning to see a new wave of suicide bombings outside the Middle East?

Every successful terror attack is considered a victory by the radical Islamists. Everywhere Islam expands there is regional conflict. Right now, there are thousands of candidates for martyrdom lining up in training camps in Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Inside Europe, hundreds of illegal mosques are preparing the next step of brain washing to lost young men who cannot find a satisfying identity in the Occidental world. Israel is much more prepared for this than the rest of the world will ever be. Yes, there will be more suicide killings in Europe and the U.S. Sadly, this is only the beginning.

Iraqi Police Free Kidnap Victim; Large Bomb-Making Cache Found

American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, July 12, 2006 – Iraqi police freed a kidnap victim in Baghdad, and coalition forces uncovered a large cache of bomb-making material near Mahmudiyah, Iraq, July 10, U.S. military officials reported.
Iraqi policemen from 2nd Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 1st National Police Division, arrested seven men at a checkpoint and freed an alleged kidnap victim in eastern Baghdad after the men tried to bypass checkpoints in four vehicles. The police stopped them with small-arms fire and a roadblock, officials said.

"This shows the effectiveness of the Iraqi national police and their ability to enforce the rule of law," said Army Maj. Johnny Davis, operations officer of 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

The police apprehended all of the suspects. Two of the alleged kidnappers received minor head injuries and were treated upon arrival for questioning. The police confiscated five 9 mm pistols, two AK-47 rifles and three vehicles.

The kidnappers had stolen one of the vehicles from the victim, officials said. The incident is under investigation by Iraqi authorities.

Also, coalition soldiers from 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, located a large cache of bomb-making materials in a rural area outside Mahmudiyah.

The cache was buried in a plastic barrel and consisted of 7.62 mm rounds, 82 mm explosive charges, 60 mm mortar rounds, grenades, rocket-propelled grenade launchers, rocket-propelled grenades, 60mm mortar fuses, TNT, blasting caps and various other bomb-making materials.

An explosive ordnance team destroyed the munitions at the site, officials said.

Interpol media release
11 July 2006

Interpol issues alert after Al Qaeda suspects escape prison
LYON, France – Interpol has issued a worldwide alert to its 184 member countries following confirmation of a prison break in Saudi Arabia by suspected Al Qaeda-linked terrorists.

The seven men, six Saudis and one Yemeni, escaped from the Malaz prison in Riyadh on 8 July.

Interpol’s Command and Co-ordination Centre in Lyon has issued Blue Notices for the fugitives which include their photographs and fingerprints and which request member countries to provide the Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB) in Riyadh with any information concerning the location of the escapees.

'Interpol is the only organization capable of instantly alerting police around the world through its NCBs that escaped terrorists are on the loose, and is the only organization capable of instantly providing police worldwide with the photographs and fingerprints that will help them to identify and apprehend the escapees,' said Interpol Secretary General Ronald K. Noble.

The Command and Co-ordination Centre learned of the escape through routine open-source monitoring and immediately contacted NCB Riyadh to verify the escape and obtain the relevant information to alert other member countries.

Mr Noble praised the proactive work and quick response of the Command and Co-ordination Centre, which was created following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, but he expressed concern about the apparently slow communication between prison and police authorities.

This is the second time in six months that Interpol has learned about the escape of charged or convicted terrorists through the media. The first escape occurred in February of this year, when 13 convicted Al Qaeda terrorists and 10 others broke out of a Yemeni prison, at which time Secretary General Noble ordered Interpol to issue a global alert to inform countries’ police services of the jail break, as it constituted a clear and present danger, not just to one country but to the world.

'Most people might only be concerned that there have been two prison escapes in two different countries by a large number of suspected Al Qaeda terrorists. However, Interpol is also concerned that there apparently is no established protocol at the national level to alert the international police community that a prison break of suspected Al Qaeda terrorists has occurred,' Secretary General Noble said.

Mr Noble will propose to Interpol’s Executive Committee and General Assembly, which will meet in Rio de Janeiro later this year, to implement procedures which would ensure that information on escaped dangerous prisoners, and especially terrorists, is communicated immediately to Interpol.

'These two cases have exposed a serious weak link in the chain of global security and one which must be corrected immediately,' said Mr Noble.

Interpol is the world’s largest international police organization, with 184 member countries, operating 24 hours a day in four official languages, Arabic, English, French and Spanish.
