Isn't it amazing how ethnocentric we are? Most of us have absolutely no ability to put ourselves into someone else's shoes and see their life through their eyes. I do not consider this to be a reason, or excuse, for doing something so basically wrong as shooting one's spouse, but I thank God every day, literally, that I am usually not beset by urges or desires that I cannot resist (does chocolate count?). Again, not to excuse or explain away, just the confession that I don't know that I could resist some of the urges that beset some people. I am not so sure that there is no such thing as demon possession.
