...She manages to get the facts about Chernobyl 180 degrees out???

QUOTE FROM THE DARWINIAN REVIEW: "while Ms. Coulter might be technically right.......

You bet she is!
Chernobyl was not the "end of the world" crisis so favored of leftist. It was a serious fire accident in a nuclear plant but the millions of dead predicted never did happen. The engineering errors could have been avoided in the design but the Russian engineers caved in to the bureaucrats and cut corners in their fire protection.
Chernobyl is also a sacred totem of the WATERMELON left (Green on the outside and red on the inside)so any dispute of its impact is sacrilegious.

It's "Darwin Central" and Ms. Coulter was trying to downplay the deaths of thousands, and the injuries of tens of thousands more, by claiming "it wasn't so bad" in an effort to support nuclear power. It's a bit like saying 9/11 "wasn't so bad" in an effort to support the airline industry.

Besides, if you read the WHOLE article, you'll see she got her numbers of cancers and birth defects egregiously wrong. But hey, don't let that get in the way of your worship of the goddess.

The engineering errors could have been avoided in the design but the Russian engineers caved in to the bureaucrats and cut corners in their fire protection.

No amount of change in the fire protection system could have prevented the disaster or its results.

It was a serious fire accident in a nuclear

I am sure that Ann mentioned that it was a core meltdown, right?
