It seems to me that they held an election and nobody cared. Lousy turnout, meaning Cannon got the votes of 3% of the registered voters.

I don't know how in the world the single-issue voter can spin that as a shot over the bow of the US Senate.

Quite the contrary, you had a three-term incumbent; a VERY conservative guy (ACU rating in the 90s) and he STILL was pushed into a runoff on a single issue. I'd call that very, very significant.

Especially so when you compare it with Brian Bilbray, who is a RINO in every way except illegal immigration, and who won.

Now, gee, just imagine . . . bear with me now, imagine if we had a CONSERVATIVE candidate who actually favored enforcing the laws???? Wow. What an incredible idea. Wonder what the turnout would be then?
