(6/27/06 - HUNTSVILLE, TX) - US Supreme Court appeals are still pending for convicted killer Angel Maturino Resendiz -- so Texas prison officials have delayed the scheduled start time of his execution.

Officials won't proceed tonight in Huntsville until the appeals are resolved.

The death warrant remains in effect until midnight.

He's human debris and should be disposed of as one would dispose of a used kleenex or a dirty diaper. Any of those opposing this execution, if one of their loved ones had been one of the 15 this scum murdered, they'd be offering to push the button, not fighting to save him. That's what most annoys me about people fighting the death penalty. They're hypocritical teo faced slobs that based their position on situational ethics. Any time I confront an anti-death penalty wacko with that and ask them if they'd want the death penalty for the murderer if it was their spouse or child that was brutally murdered, they never seem to want an answer, and they can't say no because they know it would be an obvious lie. If it's good enough for them to have that justice, then everyone else deserves that also. That's why Ducaca came off as being such a disingeniusous fraud and was destroyed by Bush 41. Soon as he said he wouldn't push for the death penalty if someone raped and murdered his wife, he lost because EVERYONE knew he was lying. That's a lie without the benefit of justified emotion and right to justice that he would have if it really happened. And the American people knew it. Anti-death penalty people are full of crap.

Or, lets give him a pamphlet on how to cross the border into the U.S., and drop him off with no water in the heat of summer and let him die of thirst like so many Mexicans to at the encouragement of the Mexican government so they can get more illegally earned untaxed American Dollars wired to the families in Mexico. That seems to be the way Mexico gets rid of the ones they want dead.

Potential Governor Kinky opposes the death penalty now.

Oh please. You have a better chance of being elected than he does.

Oh no it's not just judges, but constructionist Judges hurry the process along. We should be executing people based on how Thomas Jefferson said it should be done. After the conviction, if there is no reasonable doubt, the execution will take place the following day, unless the conviction is a Saturday, in that case the execution shall be on Monday, because it would be improper to execute someone on the Lord's day. And liberals say Jefferson wasn't a Christian. Heheheh.

We have a lot of multiple murderers here in Houston. They all claim they are crazy.

Well what kind of defense is that? Of course they are not sane, they've rationalized the murder of multiple victims, sometimes their own families.

Still doesn't mean that it is not a capital crime.

We do fry them quicker here and in greater quantity than any other state I believe, and I'm proud to say. I like the fact that Texas is so good and comparitively quick about ending the breathing patterns of so many murderers. I wish it was quicker here than it was. If Charles Manson was convicted here, it would have been death, not life, and he'd be long since crispy.

I'm confirm that I have a better chance than Chris Bell does.

The Houston Chronicle has a lengthy story regarding the delay, but they have no information regarding what it's based upon.

All they mention are prior motions which have been denied.

Gotta like this from the story:

About 100 people, pro and anti-death penalty advocates, plus curious onlookers, stood on the street and sidewalk outside the prison as they waited for the execution. Anti-death penalty opponents gave a short speech around 6 p.m. denouncing the execution of Resendiz, but the crowd silently looked on for the most part.

One death penalty opponent held up a sign that said, ``Resendez Is Mentally Ill Stop The Execution!'' A short time later, a person came up next to her and held up a sign that read, ``Kill The Killer.''

Just heard on the radio (XM) that SCOTUS has rejected all appeals. The Death Warrant expires at midnight. Say good night, Gracie...

It was a no-brainer for Scalia. Resendiz says he will be resurrected in three days if he's executed tonight.

So suddenly a capital case becomes something which only involves "harmless error."

I mean, if he's right, there's NO WAY we execute him again.

I say let's try it and see what happens! If he's resurrected in three days we have more drugs. Drugs are cheap!

Well Chris Bell will be a 3 time loser: Mayor, Congress, and Governor. He'll still have time to run for President in 2008 if he'll be 35 by then...

That's good. These anti-death penalty people are so rabid and they'd all change their tune if it was their loved one that had been murdered by these murderers. I can't stand people that live by situational ethics.
