Church lite
Jewish World Review ^ | June 22, 2006 | Cal Thomas

Posted on 06/22/2006 10:48:45 AM PDT by Caleb1411

The new leader of the Episcopal Church in America, Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, says she does not believe homosexuality is a sin and that homosexuals were created by God to love people of the same gender.

As the Episcopal leadership continues to huff and puff to catch up with the world, it would be helpful if it could tell its members what it regards as sinful behavior, or will the very concept of sin soon be up for negotiation in order to avoid giving offense to anyone?

Truly what Paul, the Apostle, warned would happen in the "end times" is coming true in our day: "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine, instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn away from the truth and turn aside to myths." (2 Timothy 4:3-4 NIV).

Meeting at the Episcopal General Convention in Columbus, Ohio, the denomination passed a resolution expressing "regret" for consecrating a homosexual bishop three years ago, but it declined to repent of its action. On Tuesday, they voted to continue consecrating homosexual bishops and to permit same-sex unions. But, just 24 hours later, they reversed themselves yet again and adopted a resolution to avoid consecrating additional gay bishops. Apparently, they are so wishy-washy; they are even wishy-washy about their wishy-washiness.

This is who liberals are. Why is Cal Thomas so surprised? Put ten liberals in a room and watch them fall apart.

Episcopalians refuse affirmation of Christ

http://www.virtueonline.org/portal/modules/news/article.php?storyid=4311

COLUMBUS, OHIO (6/20/06)-The House of Deputies of the 75th General Convention of the Episcopal Church today overwhelmingly refused to even consider a resolution that affirmed Jesus Christ as the "only name by which any person may be saved."

(And it gets worse if you read the entire article. . .)

As an ex-Episcopalian, I can attest: So true, so true.

And. . .

"COLUMBUS, OHIO (6/21/06)-While addressing a morning Eucharist at the 75th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, Presiding Bishop-elect Katherine Jefferts Schori declared, "Our mother Jesus gives birth to a new creation. And you and I are His children."

It would be really advantageous to simply look into Gods word to see what GOD regards as sinful behavior.

About a year ago our Bishop's Committee had a meeting with our presiding Bishop His Purpleness and he explained that our request for help to refurbish our Mission church was denied because contributions to the Diocese were down and they were not sure why. I conjectured that perhaps it was because of Bishop Robinson's appointment. He was shocked that any actually had the nerve to say that out loud. I wonder what kind of loss they liberal diocese will loss this round.

Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, says she does not believe homosexuality is a sin and that homosexuals were created by God to love people of the same gender.

And those who love children? Animals? This excuse can be applied wholesale to almost every aspect of human life.

Acts 20:29-30
I know that after my departure savage wolves will come among you, and they will not spare the flock.
And from your own group, men will come forward perverting the truth to draw the disciples away after them.

But that's (gasp) so . . . so fundamentalist! What will the world say? What will the mainstream media say? What will the other branches of the First Laodicean Church of North America say?

First Laodicean church? Ha.

Should be First Corinthian Church. They tolerated and even patted each other on the back for accepting sexual sin in their church, just like the Episcopalians.

Episcopalians: repent, and go to a church (or start your own) that believes in the BIBLE.

"The new leader of the Episcopal Church in America, Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, says she does not believe homosexuality is a sin and that homosexuals were created by God to love people of the same gender."

Thats not what is written in the book of Leviticus 18:22 "You shall not lie with a man as with a woman, it is an abomination". Reference also 1 Corinthians 6:9

Bishop Schori is either a liar or ignorant of Biblical Scriptures...not the qualifications one expects of a bishop nonetheless.

Solution...get out of the false church and into the true church that believes and will not distort the Word of God.

This makes the fact that our little congregation left (really, kicked out by Bishop) en masse to join the Anglican Church directly all the more correct in hindsight.

We'd much rather be in a school gym/cafeteria with God than a beautiful, new, building with nothing.
