They're probably lying. Probably some ordinary muslims - parading around as human debris -- tortured and killed our men -- and then said it was their leader. They lie as easily as they breathe. I think if it was the new leader he would have filmed it and made it a big t.v. production.
Because we are not like the prisoners in Gitmo. More to the point, we should try never to be like them.
P.S. -- I rather doubt you'd be pleased to live under the conditions under which these prisoners are held at Gitmo. They're in prison. Treated humanely, but doing hard time in prison nonethelesss.

I still wouldn't be surprised if a video comes out, but I agree that this guy probably did not personally kill our soldiers. We have heard about 5 different names floated as the new leader of AQ in Iraq, so I think this one is just taking advantage of the situation to try to make a name for himself and make it clear that he is the "real" leader.
I second that. They hide in Mosques, use civilians as shields, target non combatants, etc.
I bet that this is going to have some unintended consequences for them. I see another major crackdown coming in my crystal ball.
My guess is that it means that they're slaughtering their enemies like animals.
That is something these soldiers weren't able to accomplish apparently.

As emotional as many of us are this morning- and as much as we want to see these madmen suffer endless agony, I am grateful we discipline our soldiers to focus on the mission, whatever that may be- and not on mindless slaughter.
