When you run evolutionary divergence backwards, you see convergence. The farther back you go, the more unlike things look like each other... That's what evolution says you should see. That's what you do see.

Indeed, indeed. That is what you do see. For instance, Anomalocaris and Hallucigenia, being nearly the same size to within a few orders of magnitude, are so much alike that a skilled Darwinian can no longer tell them apart...

Anomalocaris for sure has a bizarre mix of lobopod worm and arthropod features, said mix offering a clue to the origin of arthropods from worms. See Phylum-level evolution. (Another such clue is the worm-like nature of most hatchling insects even today.)

Hallucigenia is an ambiguous fossil offering few clues for interpretation.

Because a few remains have been found. More will be found. Satellites make it easier to identify likely locations to look.
