Enbrel is a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blocker and might cause severe side effects especially it will reduce the function of the immune system. It might as well give an increased incidence of cancer, but I guess that the benefits are worth the side effects.

It looks promising, but this is just a small phase I study

He has done the two studies above (they are probably the same study), but no other study is registered for any clinical trial with this drug against Alzheimer. There are 54 trials with Enbrel and 118 on Alzheimer.

RA is already an autoimmune ds; a possible increase in lymphoma....well, there are a number of RA drugs out there that might be a bit safer than Enbrel, so I'm not sure if the benefits outweigh the side effects for RA.
Though, I can understand trying it for Alzheimers.
