Agree with you on Barone. I don't think he is really a conservative, but he's very knowledgeable and knows what the American people are thinking.

To me, Barone is a conservative. I have heard him speak at a CATO seminar I attended. His views certainly sounded conservative.

Depends on what you consider "conservative"

Some people label anyone *not* liberal "conservative".

People have called Andrew Sullivan. Joe Lieberman and David Gergan "conservative".

The debate have moved so far to the left, in the last 30 years, that anyone who believes in the rule of law, a colorblind society, and free speech, is a a "right-wing extremist".
