We can certainly use people trying to reform Islam from within, and possibly to figure out some way of reconciling it to modern ideas of freedom.
There is, however, a major difference between Christianity and Judaism on the one side and Islam on the other. There have certainly been wicked and violent Christians and wicked and violent Jews. But Islam was founded by a "prophet" who himself was violent, took slaves, broke his sworn oath, had sexual relations with a 9-year-old child, and in general exhibited all sorts of atrocious behavior.
Jesus didn't go around cutting off people's heads, enslaving them, or raping them. Muhammed did. I find that difficult to get around. For the most part, the best Muslims seem to be those who don't take their religion too seriously.
And it interesting to see moderate muslims reaching for the metaphysical bottom of the islamic reality.
We infidels know that islam is bullsh!t...many muslims are beginning to see the same.
As a Christian, it is equally odd to see those who have fallen away from the religion come back to the person of Yeshua.
When Muslims try to return to the basics of islam...they are blocked by the hatred and untruth.
I suspect Yeshua is calling them to the Truth.
