Ann Coulter on the Tonight Show and Freeper Party: Freeper Report
The Tonight Show | June 14, 2006 | Cinnamon Girl

Posted on 06/14/2006 9:19:42 PM PDT by Cinnamon Girl

Jay Leno gives you a little notice, a little warning of sorts, before taping his show, that it just wouldn't be nice or appropriate to shout out stuff or boo or heckle any of the guests because, hey, everyone should be able to come and share their views. But even if a grungy, dreadlocked white kid in a Che t-shirt did decide to heckle Ann Coulter, there was a rather large group of Freepers, conservative/Republican activists and friends in the audience to overwhelm them.

But there was no heckling and very little by way of booing, except of course, when Jay read the passage from Ann's book in which she describes the self-serving "Jersey Girls." At that point, there were some hisses in the audience, but Ann plowed ahead, as she always does.

And some on the web seemed to be under the impression that Ann Coulter and the elderly George Carlin were going to "face off," but when has there ever been a political debate on the Jay Leno Show? Carlin came on, did his unfunny shtick, no one knew where the comedy was, and he sat down on the couch. Then Ann came on and got some strangely pointed questions from Jay, who seemed to want to please his leftist producers/writers without really knowing where he was going with the interview. He did ask Ann if it ever hurt her feelings when people criticize her, and she said "no."

Some things should go without saying but in case you weren't sure: yes, we cheered her loudly and often, yes, she wore a black sleeveless mini-dress, yes, George Carlin is an unfunny leftist. However, Carlin did not argue with Ann or treat her rudely. The only thing that indicated his feelings was when he grimaced a few times when she spoke about liberal men.

The musical guest was some chick from Scotland who stank, but had a mysterious message taped to her guitar which read: "THIS MACHINE KILLS FACISTS." Nobody seemed to know what this meant, but I did notice that at the end of the show she shook Carlin's hand, then Ann's, but then immediately focused a conversation on Carlin and didn't even glance at Ann again, as if she wasn't there.

After the show, we went to a restaurant across the street and Ann, ever gracious with her fans, joined the group for photos, book signings, and questions. Imagine, with her busy schedule promoting her book, that she would take the time to hang out with us. RonDog, who had orchestrated most everything on the Freeper side, was there, as was Doug from Upland, tame, Rockitz, rantblogger, Andrew Breitbart, and even a well known banned Freeper.

For the Page Six folks, it looked like Ann was sipping a strawberry daiquiri, carrying a Chanel bag, and her hair color looked beautiful. I asked her if, when she was chatting during the commercial breaks with George Carlin, if he was kind to her. She said he was actually quite nice, contrary to what some may have expected. But remember, this is Hollywood, and most "celebrities" when sober, fear public rejection (by way of booing, to their face.) Even Michael Moore toned down his act (in mixed company) after people booed his "Shame on you, Mr. Bush" speech at the Oscars. Or perhaps Carlin just isn't like that these days.

Thank you, Ann, for being so gracious, and to RonDog for getting hold of tickets for so many of us.

An Urgent Appeal To Ann Coulter: Change NOTHING!

Ann Coulter-American Patriot!

by John W. Lillpop

Dear Ann,

Many in the media and on the left criticize you and your perspective, I, on the other hand, urge you to change NOTHING.

Please, leave that bundle of beauty, energy and genius called Ann Coulter exactly as is!

Anyone who can incur the unanimous wrath of Hillary Clinton, the 9/11 Commission, Matt Lauer and other assorted leftist thugs, without even breaking a sweat or swearing, deserves national acclaim.

Perhaps an 'Ann Coulter Holiday' is in order? Liberals who blanch at the idea can work for free that day!

Oh, if only our alleged Republican president and Congress had one third your commitment to conservative values, one-eighth your intelligence, and 10% your fighting spirit.

There might still be hope for the union.

Although, I confess, there are times when I wish you would go even further.

Example, after 9/11 you wrote that America should invade Muslim nations, take over their governments, and convert them to Christianity.

Brilliant!

But why stop there?

Let's add the DNC, Mainstream Media, California and Washington state to the to-be-converted list.

Convert them and watch the world suddenly change, for the better.

In my view, your most valuable public service occurs when you seduce lefties into public battle. For instance, Hillary Clinton decided to take a public shot at you this week.

She should have passed. Your withering reply reminded America and the world that Bill Clinton was accused of raping Juanita Brodericks and assaulting Kathleen Wiley.

Ingenious way to remind Hillary and the Democrat party of the huge baggage----named Slick Willy----that she brings with her.

Unless she bails out on the bum via divorce, or has Vince Foster's physician prescribe some anti-depressants for the former president. That, and a small handgun, could end some of the excess baggage in the senator's life.

And what of Assemblywomen Joan M. Quigley, D-Hudson, and Linda Stender, D-Union of New Jersey?

These political wonders, having ended hunger, poverty, crime, illegal immigration, medical malpractice and marital infidelity in the Garden State, decided that a national bonfire is needed to deal most effectively with your new book, Godless.

Asking either of these Democrats to actually read Godless would be pointless: Both are liberals and products of a public education system, administered by liberals.

So why bother?

It should be obvious from these limited examples that America needs Ann Coulter, full strength.

Not decaff. Nor Ann Lite.

After all, if We the People wanted wishy-washy, mindless pap we would simply read and listen to President Bush's speeches.

Or, even worse, public utterances by Bill Frist.

Save us from all that, Ann:

Change NOTHING.   Just be You!

I heard the cheer during the intro monologue, and Leno seemed amazed that there were actually conservatives in the state of Kalifornication, let alone his studio!

Way to go!!!

Carlin's actually a pretty decent person, on a personal level. Some years ago he was interviewed on the radio with a host he's known for years, and he talked about missing his late wife--man, it was really heartbreaking. I have noticed that he has been a lot less in-your-face on a personal level like this since his wife passed away some years back.

KT Tunstall? Ah, that's a shame. I like a lot of her songs on her current album.

Also, at the taping and the party, were four Marines (one was actually a sailor attached to the Marines) three of whom had been to Iraq, and one who had received a purple heart, but wished he could go back. Very nice guys.

Too bad Letterman isn't the same way.

It was a great event. How thrilled was I when I asked Ann to sign my book to Doug from Upland, and she said "You're Doug from Upland? It's great to meet you."

You got home first and beat me to this thread. I was planning for a title of FREEPERS PROTECT ANN COULTER FROM GODLESS HOLLYWOOD SCUM.

I was able to tell Ann about Bill Clinton's court date as a defendant next March in Paul v Clinton. She had no idea. Why, you may ask? Because the Godless mainstream media has chosen not to report it.
