Perhaps he is a legally defined pedophile in this country but attraction to physically mature members of the opposite sex is NOT pedophilia. By the same token most of the Catholic priest "pedophilia" was straight out homosexual abuse, not pedophilia. Reacting to attraction by a 16 year old may be regarded generally as inappropriate but it is not pedophilia. An actual pedophile is someone attracted to pre pubescent children.

They're four years apart and she's 16. The relationship can be a bad idea without distorting and weakening the word pedophile to include willing teenagers.

Sounds like he and others do this to come to the US and become residents/citizens.

I would hardly call a 20 year old with a 16 year old girl a 'pedophile'. Especially in that area of the world where social stigma isn't as broad here. Heck, by technical laws, my son would have been a 'pedophile' when he turned 19 and his girlfriend had yet to reach her 17th birthday.
