Great! It is a shame, though, that we can go half-way around the world, but we can't go a hundred miles east into Pakistan. We should tell Mushy to back off, then go in there and do some damage. Safe havens... Can't allow the enemy to have them.

GREAT!
Both war zones are cranking it up now.
Time to "git 'er done." ;-)

Small correction:
There was a dramatic upsurge in insurgency-linked violence FATALITIES in southern Afghanistan in mid-May with Taliban fighters taking on the security forces in some of their biggest battles in years.

A 19 year-old friend-of-a-friend lost his arm, was seriously wounded by shrapnel, and was badly burned in Afghanistan yesterday. So sad. The price of freedom can be - and is - very high...
Lord, please watch over, bless and protect our troops, and inspire those who lead them.

Good post. Perhaps a lot of fresh faces moving in from Iran over a period of time are going to find themselves popping up daisies over the next few months.

I don't believe it's coincidental Mogadishu was claimed by the islamites a few weeks ago. How do you spell "run like a little girlie!"?

Heh heh. Some politician or other was using the surge in Talibunny violence to show why Iraq is distracting us from the war on terror. I remember now: the politician was Murtha the Moron and the interview was the day Zarqawi's extermination was announced. Looks like they've had this handled for a while.
Strange innit, how much more our military on the ground knows than aging veteran politicians who're sagging in the polls so badly that they switch sides?

What I wonder is WHY is everybody telling the bad guys what the plans are to do next? Isn't that a little counterproductive? I wondered this when I heard it on FOXNews this morning that the offensive will be launched tomorrow by Afghani forces. . .

One of the benefits of an upsurge in violence from the Taliban is that we can train our best surveillance equipment on them as they lead us back to the rest.
After waiting a few weeks to see what settles out, we can wipe them off the face of the earth.
