Welcome to the live thread for the California Primary Election. Polls are open until 8pm tonight. If you are a registered voter, it is your duty to vote and defend your rights and civil liberties, protect your pocketbook, and vote the bums out where applicable.

Feel free to discuss issues key to your local area that others may be interested in. Post your polling place experiences if you like. And post numbers as they come in later tonight.

YES NO Proposition 81. California Reading and Literacy Improvement and Public Library Construction and Renovation Bond Act of 2006 (Bond Issue - Majority Approval Required)
    Shall the state sell $600 million in bonds to provide grants to local agencies for the construction, renovation, and/or expansion of local library facilities?
YES NO Proposition 82. Preschool Education. Tax on Incomes Over $400,000 for Individuals; $800,000 for Couples (Initiative Constitutional Amendment and Statute - Majority Approval Required)
    Should the California Constitution and state law be amended to create and support a new, publicly funded, voluntary preschool program for children to attend in the year prior to kindergarten, to be funded by an increase in personal income tax rates for high income individuals?
