Do you know who he is? Just our Senator (John Kerry Bash)

By Howie Carr Boston Herald Columnist

John F. Kerry - how can we miss him when he won’t go away?

A lot of people in both parties are hoping that America’s Gigolo will run for president again in 2008 rather than seek re-election to the Senate.

Kerry would inevitably lose and be forced to retire to private life, after which Mama T would soon boot him out of all six of her first husband’s trust fund’s mansions.

The next time we would see Kerry he’d be back to sleeping in his old Bob Brest Buick.

That would be a happy ending, to be sure. Too bad it’s not in the cards. The problem is, the political calendar.

Here’s how it works: Iowa caucuses, January 2008. New Hampshire primary, February 2008. Can we agree that Liveshot is not going to win either? So it’s over. So far, so good. But here’s the hitch: After he’s elminated, he has until May to decide whether he’s going to run for a fifth term in the Senate.

What do you think he’ll do?

But no one will speak truth to power, as he likes to say. None of his coatholders dare tell the Gigolo that the gig is up. Why else would Rupert Murdoch suck up to Hillary Clinton? Why else would Bill Clinton sign to write a new book that’ll be coming out in 2008?

It’s hard to remember now, but Kerry first won an election with Mike Dukakis, and talk about the gift that keeps on giving - yesterday’s newspaper read like a bad acid flashback to the worst of the Dukakis era.

A Dukakis judge - Peter Agnes - brooms a drunken driving case, giving the boozed-up killer of a 4-year-old boy 18 months in the slammer.

Two Dukakoid political operatives - Paul Pezzella and Paul Giorgio - are charged with voter fraud in Worcester.

The state Senate again refuses to cut the 1989 Dukakis tax increase it promised to rescind all those years ago. And the Town Meeting in Brookline - the Duke’s hometown - considers a resolution demanding the impeachment of George Bush. The more things change . . .

Even now, the Duke’s other legacy, John Kerry, moves restlessly through the airports of America, and the indignant question echoes through the land: “Do you know who I am?”

Here’s a recent airport incident recounted to me by Col. David Hunt, U.S. Army (ret.), the best-selling author and Fox News analyst.

It was a Sunday afternoon about a month ago in D.C. that Hunt was returning from a convention, and Kerry was returning from, what else, a liveshot. Everybody was standing in line, waiting their turn to board the airline. Every passenger but one, that is.....

“I saw him walking towards the gate,” Hunt said, “and I was going to say something, but he just kept walking, past all the rest of us, and went straight to the head of the line.”

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.

A call to Kerry’s office produced a tepid statement from an aide saying that didn’t “sound like something the senator would do.”

Riiight. I was going to use the anecdote a couple weeks ago, but then someone in Kerry’s family died, and I shelved it. So last weekend I run into Col. Hunt in a bookstore in Orleans and he asks me why I never printed the story. I explained to him what had happened, but he wasn’t buying it.

“I give you gold and you deep-six it,” he said.

Hunt and I were signing our books at a table, and the guy in front of us was a Coast Guardsman. He too had his own Kerry story - let me just repeat the pro forma staff denial that it didn’t sound like something the senator would do. Wink, wink.

The punch line of the story, which you probably already guessed, is Kerry bristling and asking the Coast Guardsman, “Do you know who I am?”

The good news: America’s Gigolo will never be president. The bad news: He’s senator for life.

"(John Kerry's) default position is the conventional wisdom of the Massachusetts Left:
on foreign policy, foreigners know best;
on trade, the labour unions know best;
on government, bureaucrats know best;
on defence, graying ponytailed nuclear-freeze reflex anti-militarists know best;
on the wine list, he knows best."

In that bunny suit picture, he looks so good with his kick-ass man-tan and his newly chisled teeth...remember how funny it was to have him disappear for a week and then deny that he had botox/man-tan/cosmetic dental work?????

John Kerry once again slams American troops- Check it out-
