Clinton instigated it personally. He was shopping around for a photo op between the time he was elected and when he took office.

Though he refused to take responsibility on April 19, 1993, your post is rank speculation.

your post is rank speculation.

Hardly. Why do you think the BATF agent kicking it off was from Arkansas, not Texas, ostensibly pursuing state charges that had been investigated by Texas and found without merit? (though with the wildly varying statements of what the charges were, one can certainly be forgiven for getting lost).

Frankly, it came as quite a surprise to me that it wasn't something approved several layers below the President.

This raid was in the planning stages when Bush 41 was still President.

Clinton was still finding the bathrooms in the White House on February 28, 1993.

Well Sybeck1,

Guess you have a point with your question "which Butch is this"? We are talking about the Clinton administration after all, aren't we? I was referring to Janet "Butch" Reno of course. However, I am sure there were several "Butch's" in the Clinton adminstration. If Hillary should succeed in becoming Prez, we may have to come up with a numbering system to keep up with all the "Butch's"!

"Clinton was still finding the bathrooms in the White House on February 28, 1993"

I remember fairly well an old episode of the Chuck Harder "For the People" radio show. {He was anti-Clinton, anti-Bush, anti-just about everybody in those days, except Perot}

The show that I recall gave a second hand account of an event in the first Clinton campaign. Seems none other than William the Slick paid a brief visit to the Davidians during a Texas campaign swing in 92.

Interesting speculation/rumor, because I've not been able to verify.

"They were real baby killers at work that day paid for by your and my tax dollars."

They were trying to save them right? It was "for the children" right? I don't care what kind of fruitcake Koresh was, that was out and out pre-meditated murder. The people who instigated and carried it out deserve to be in prison instead of out walking around. Our government was and is corrupt.

I'm wondering what's going to happen to the Mormon polygamist they're looking for?

In what was practically the first scene, BATF are shown outside the building armed with M-16 look-alikes. The voice is explaining that the Davidians are armed with automatic weapons but the poor BATF only have handguns and semi-automatice firearms.

Now what are the chances that the BATF were armed with anything less than select-fire assault rifles? I would say none. Practically the first sentence in the program is outright false.

Later, the program mentions the fact that incendiary devices were used at Waco, but only outside the building. No mention is made of the fact that there were initial denials that any incendiaries whatever were used, until evidence surfaced to show that the jack-booted-thugs lied. When forced to admit that incendiaries were used, they naturally claim that they were only used outside the building.

I'm not sure what resources and motivations led to the creation of this program, but the agenda shows clearly.

Videos of the intitial assault are shown, but somehow we do not see Koresh answering the door. Why is that? The BATF went on this raid with the intention of documenting it, but we only get to see snippets that support their version of events.

Let us not forget that the CS gas used in the incendiary devices is not supposed to be used indoors.

Let us also not forget that three men who had been Clinton bodyguards died at Waco, apparently shot at very close range.

Let us also not forgt the suspicious death of Carlos Ghigliotti, an FLIR expert analyzing tape of the attack.

Yes.

Those of us who have had basic training in the military are fully aware that CS is not "tear gas". Just the merest exposure to CS will cause one's armpits or any other moist tissue to burn with pain. It's difficult to imagine anyone with such knowledge purposely exposing children to this.

The M-16 look alikes probably were M-16s, but they could have been 9mm submachine guns as well.

Notice too that the BATFers (Now BATFErs) are not taking cover, only concealment. Those horse trailers weren't going to be giving any protection against an M-60 or a .50 cal. In fact that was the first time I heard or read anything about a Machine Gun, (as opposed to an illegally constructed assault rifle) and I've read quite a lot on the subject. There was never any evidence submitted, as opposed to agent testimony, about any converted converted assault rifles either, AFAIK, nor were any outside experts, such as NRA experts, allowed to examine the alleged converted assault rifles, to see if they had indeed been converted, and if it was done before or after the fire.

They also never mentioned the large hole blown, somehow, in the roof of the central concrete block area of the building. I saw photos of that hole. The re-bar was bent, and the concrete was pulverized. Of the evidence was promptly bulldozed, and unusual procedure at a crime scene.

They did show the explosion that might have made the hole, and it might not, as that big explosion looked more like a propane tank or other fuel tank going up.

They mentioned that the investigators (From the BATF itself IIRC) found accellerants, never mentioning that the FBI had knocked over the fuel tank with either a Bradley or the CEV (modified M-60). Speaking of tanks, they repeated the misinformation that the "Army" provided M-1 Abrams tanks. They did not, the Texas National Guard provided Bradley fighting vehicles and the CEV.

All in all, the program was a apologist POS.

I've seen no evidence that he went to Waco. I doubt there was reason for him to care enough to go to the effort.

Let us also not forget the JBTs shot some of the Davidian dogs before going to the front door.

Let us also not forget that the front door and its bullet holes disappeared. No one can determine whether the holes point in or out.

Let us also not forget that the refrigerator containing the Davidian dead bodies stopped working.

I finally got around to watching this on Tivo. The first thing that stood out was no mention of helicopters used in the 2/28 assault. Just that a certain time that morning two tractor trailers pulled up. No mention of the footage of the man shot dead from the water tower or that his body laid there for days. No mention of the children's drawings of bullets in the roof or even Koresh's lawyer mentioning it.

You wonder what Dick DeGuerin might had said and was edited out in the final cut, as I remember him on other footage talking about the shot up missing door.

And not even a mention of the FLIR footage of possible gunshots 4/19.
