That's what I thought was most probable. The girl's confession is curious. The terrorists may have just used one of those houses and then took off. Maybe after firing some shots off to harass them. The Marines seem to have been fired on from somewhere after they were finished in the first house. It's reported that they thought the shots came from the second house. They seem to have been firing off harassment shots and then retreated to some strong point.
