This "cold blooded murder" charge is inconceivable to me. I can't even come close to believing it. If it proves false, Murtha should be recalled.
Seems to me Coop is doing the honorable thing here by strongly defending our Marines. I hope he is vidicated.
See, that's the problem here. People think if Murtha's charges are true, then "Coop will be wrong." If they're false, then "Coop will be right/vindicated."
This isn't about me. It's about the Marines and all servicemembers risking life and limb for us. They are entitled to the same (more, if you ask me!) rights as alleged murderers and pedophiles, accused robbers, etc.
Whether the charges are 100% true or 100% false, Jack Murtha is still scum. And these Marines deserve the presumption of innocence built into our legal system that they defend.
