ref #417, I did not hear the interview with Tony, but I read the transcript and it did sound uncharacteristically pushy and out of sorts for Rush. They differ on this issue and they were disagreeing pretty good. some of the unusual rudeness from Rush may have been because Tony was given a huge opportunity and he ran with it, and is a great success now. You could say that Tony is more of a success than Rush even though Rush makes a lot more money, and is known by a lot more People. Tony meets with the President and may be part of White House Policy, he works in the West Wing, and has a great wife and Family. Even though Rush may deny it, I believe he would love to be in Tony's position, and Tony may owe a huge amount of his success to Rush. There may have been something else going on also, Rush may want to distance himself from the New White House Tony as opposed to the old substitute Host for Rush Tony, but really who knows? Rush for the most part is the only real Adult out there most of the time and he still takes the slings and arrows. He can disagree with this Administration without being bonkers like Hannity and Ingraham, and the really wacky Savage.

I heard the interview and felt at the time it was Rush really searching for why is the WH doing these things? He treated Tony like a close friend, almost brother sitting at the kitchen table, or in the fishing boat, asking for the low down. Of course 30 million eavesvdroppers where listening in. Rush is usually deferential to the likes of Cheney, Rumsfeld and other VIPs he gets to chat with on the EIB Network, but this was very personal and Rush had a lot on his mind he hoped to clarify. Tony seemed a bit taken aback, but did not flinch, although he had to fall back to the talking points, and reminded Rush he had to keep in mind that he speaks for the POTUS.

I heard the entire interview and Rush held snow over twice which is unheard of. He does not even do that for the VP.

I think Rush was trying to persuade Tony that the mindset of not shoring up the border all the way, not in patches, and then dealing with the illegals later is rather short sided but he did not get anywhere at all.

Snow had major "talking points" and was more than ready. It was all done in a grown up and non-hate filled manner although rush did get a bit flustered several times but my guess is they will go at it again. Snow knew not to leave until Rush was through with him he many never get a chance at a 15 million audience of mostly conservatives again. It's an opportunity not to be squandered.

If nothing else Snow is super-persuasive if not slick.
