I have two friends who worked for Enron and had their retirement savings wiped out. They got some recompensation in dribs and drabs, but just a small fraction of what they lost.

I hope Skilling's and Lay's assets can pay these people back substantially.

Most of them will not get a dime. Some vendors have sued the banks that were helping Enron shuffle the money and are getting something back, but the employees will not be able to recover their pensions. Word to the wise don't put all your money in your company's ESOP, no matter how solvent they appear to be.
